SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
19.The work was completed on Alma Field in Flint Park and the field re-opened
for play on Friday, May 16th. The boys high school lacrosse program has
moved over to this field for the remainder of their season.
20.We were recently informed by the school district that they are moving forward
with their summer construction plans at Hommocks Middle School that will
have an impact on our operation. The district is installing solar panels on the
roof of the building and proposing to install solar car ports in the front half of
the parking lot. Due to the nature of this work, we will not have access to the
school cafeteria, which we have used in the past to assist with arrival and
drop-off for campers. Any work taking place in the parking lot will have a direct
impact on our camp drop-off and pick up traffic as well as affect the amount of
parking available for pool users this summer.
21.As of June 5th, the school district is still unable to provide a re-opening date for
the pool. They are waiting for the Board of Health approval and will not commit
to any date at this time. We will continue to prepare and proceed with the hope
that we will get approval soon and that the pool will be open by the end of
June.
