New Business:
1. Crest Avenue
Chair Block called the meeting to order at 7:11pm and introduced the committee and
staff.
Stephanie Klein addressed the committee, the bushes were cut but the sight line is
still an issue. She explained the the spot at the Stop Sign is being blocked. Ms.
Odierna and Ms. Klein discussed cars from Rockland being parked in the area and if
the cars are parked over night. Ms. Klein said the issue is with people turning right
onto Crest from Rockland Avenue and coming face to face with parked cars, parked
onto the curb. She asked for no parking for the length of two cars. She also
mentioned how it is used as a cut through.
Chair Block commented that there is no accident history; Ms. Katz said there is a
slight blind curb. Ms. Odierna said Ms. Klein should call the police when she sees
parking in the area over night. She also asked if the new owners are bothered by the
parking issue too.
2. Edgewood Avenue
Victoria Johnson addressed the Traffic Committee. She stated her concern about
people cutting through Edgewood Avenue to get to the train. She is asking to place a
sign for"Slow Down Autistic Child Area" on Edgewood Avenue. Chair Block said the
Engineering and Police Departments reviewed the issue. Ms. Katz said she
researched the proposed sign and a study suggested that it does not change the flow
of traffic and gives a false sense of security. Chair Block said the sign is authorized by
the State. Mr. Wrzesniewsky said he sympathizes with the resident. He used a
personal example and suggested erecting a personal sign.
Chair Block does favor putting in a sign but the issue would have to go to the Town
Board. Ms. Katz sympathizes with the resident but is concerned about sign pollution.
The resident said she is concerned about bringing awareness that there is an autistic

child in the area.
The final recommendation is to send the issue to the Town Board.
3. Robert Stark from the Village of Mamaroneck
Robert Stark complimented the Traffic Committee on their work within the Town and
discussed the Speed Hump Policy.
He also discussed bike lanes on Boston Post Road with the Traffic Committee. They
then discussed the Vision Zero Program, a program to safely walk and drive around
an area. He asked if the Town would work on the program with the Village. Chair
Block said the Traffic Committee deals more with individual issues, not wider range
issues. Ms. Katz wanted to know what specifically the program would encompass. Mr.
Stark said the program would contact schools and other organizations about travelling
safely around the Village.
4. George Talt-Larchmont Gardens Civic Association
George Talt addressed the Traffic Committee. He listed the following issues: speeding
within the Larchmont Arches area, the No Truck Policy on Hickory is not being
unforced, and the Speed Hump Policy excludes streets that are emergency
designated.
Chair Block and Mr. Talt spoke about the issue with a teenager who crashed his car
into the Duck Pond. He asked for a stop sign at the intersection of Myrtle Blvd
Lakeside Drive. Ms. Katz reviewed what was said in the past about the issue.
