Chair Block states that the applicant needs 75% of residents to sign a petition stating
they would like the speed humps.
Business Agenda:
1. Murray Avenue School Area
Chair Block reviewed the item. She said the recommendation from town staff is to
erect signage in the Murray Avenue School area. She explained that Murray Avenue
is a County Road and will need the County's approval for the installation of the
proposed signs. Ms. Pennella said that application has been submitted and the
County seem likely to approve the signs.
John Elton discussed sidewalks and curbs with the Traffic Committee. Ms. Robson
referred him to the Engineering Department to discuss curbs. They then discussed a
time line of the ConEd project.
2. Dillion Road and Pryer Manor Road
Chair Block reviewed the request with the Traffic Committee. The Police Department
did not find a speed issue, but the crosswalk does seem feasible. Engineering is
recommending the review of Boston Post Road and the installation of crosswalk to the
State's Safe Streets program. Ms. Robson then reviewed the process of the collection

Ralph Engel reviewed what the Planning Board has decided to do. They are requiring
a crosswalk be installed near the BLD Dinner site for safety. Chair Block stated that
as of now the Traffic Committee is unable to assist in the issue, but the Engineering
Department is recommending the area for the Safe Streets Program.
3. Washington Square and Madison Avenue
Chair Block reviewed the item with the Traffic Committee. She said Engineering is in
favor of installing and updating signage in the area. Ralph Engel and another resident
addressed the committee. Motorists come off 1-95 and go left into the complex, down
the one-way. Ms. Pennella explained where the signs would be installed and the
standards used for such signs.
4. Other Business and Adjournment
Ms. Katz addressed the Traffic Committee on an extended light issue on Mrytle Blvd.
The intersection has been an issue with motorists not knowing which lane they should
be in. Mr. King suggested installing an "1-95 This Way"sign so motorists are not
confused on how to get onto 1-95.
The meeting ended at 7:35pm.
