King, Councilman Robert P.Wasp,Town Engineer Emma Pennella, Junior Engineer The Traffic Committee will convene in the Court Room located on the second floor at the Town Center at 7:00 pm. New Business: 1. Update on Winged Foot Chair Block informed the Traffic Committee that the residents are adhering to the self policing of the area. 2. Request for Evaluation of Traffic Conditions and Pedestrian Safety Improvements- Bryson Street Ms. Katz explained the issue and gave background of it to the Traffic Committee. Mr. Wrzesniewsky addressed the issue with the Traffic Committee and gave a description of the area. Parking and pedestrian safety are a concern of his and his neighbors. Drivers are running over his and Ms. O'Connell's sprinkler heads and water lines. Mr. Wrzesniewsky's driveway has been blocked in on several occasions. He then described drivers who have completed hit and runs in the area. Ms. O'Connell and Lt. Hollywood discussed the series of events of the accident at her house. Ms. O'Connell, Ms. Katz, and Mr. Wasp discussed the Town's right of way and the placement of her sprinkler systems. Chair Block reminded those at the meeting to only discuss relevant Traffic Committee issues. Mr. Wrzesniewsky and Ms. Katz discussed why the parking was changed on Bryson Street. Ms. Katz said she saw many children walking toward Murray Avenue School in the street so there is a need for sidewalks; Chair Block and Mr. Wasp discussed what factors would effect sidewalks. Ms. Katz and Lt. Hollywood discussed yellow stripping in front of Mr. Wrzesniewsky's house. Ms. Katz supported the installation of a sidewalk as a way to relief the issue of drivers parking on the Town's Right of Way and to increase pedestrian safety. Mr. Wasp suggested either taking away parking on both sides or making the road a one way road. Ms. Katz said she did witness several left turns onto Murray. Mr. Wasp addressed when a possible sidewalk could be installed. Ms. O'Connell discussed installing curbing herself, and Mr. Wasp described the process of how to install the curbing and Page 1 of 2 Traffic Committee April 18, 2024 the required permits. Ms. Katz and Mr. Wrzesniewsky discussed moving the sprinkler system. Mr. Wrzesniewsky asked about next steps. Chair Block and Ms. Katz discussed painting curbs and installing curbing. Ms. O'Connell and Mr. Wrzesniewsky reviewed their communication between them and the school. The principle was unable to assist them with parents parking on the Town's right of way. Councilman King said to present what was presented that evening to the Town Board for them to decide what next steps could be done. He also suggested speaking with the Superintendent of School to discuss the issue. The Traffic Committee reviewed different community groups facilitated by the schools.
