New App — Catch Corner: Matt Angst presented to the Commission a new opportunity for renters to book available ice time and summer floor time at the Hommocks Park Ice Rink. Catch Corner is an app that users can use to see and reserve available ice/floor time. • One of the biggest hurdles that customers must go through is securing the necessary insurance to rent the ice. Many people don't know where to go for insurance or want to take the time to go through the process. Catch Coner helps solve this issue by allowing customers to purchase 3rd party insurance through their website with the exact specifications that we require for an insurance policy. • This software will allow us to synch our calendar to allow the public to see what ice time is available and at what rate. • When it comes to payment for the rental, customers must provide a credit card when requesting the ice slot. A hold will be placed on their credit card until the rental is approved or denied. The fees for each slot would be set and would comply with what is the current established rate set by the Commission. There is a credit card processing fee of 2.9% and $0.47 per transaction, which can be taken out of the rental fee or can be passed along to the customer. The facility would receive an ACH payment on Monday of each week for the rentals they have received the previous week. • Catch Corner is offering a 1-year free trial with the ability to cancel the service at any time without penalty. After the 1-year free trial, there would be a fee of $350 per month. They base this number on the expectations of generating revenue of approximately $5,000 - $15,000 per month. If during our 1-year trial period, we see our revenues are not nearing those numbers, they are willing to negotiate their monthly fee. However, they will never raise the fee to more than $350 per month. At our current rental rates, the $350 fee would be covered by 1 hour of ice rented during our spring rates of $360/hr. and profitable at our "primetime" rate of $565/hr. • We plan on having this app available for the start of the 2024-25 season. This will have no impact on the schedules for our current ice renters.
