HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014_08_22 Town Board Minutes Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Mamaroneck Town Board held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 8:30am in the Mamaroneck Town Center The meeting was called to order at 8:30am on motion by Deputy Supervisor Odierna and seconded by Councilwoman Katz Att: Ernest Odierna Deputy Supervisor Jaine Elkind-Eney Councilwoman Abby Katz Councilwoman Also Stephen Altieri Town Administrator Anthony Siligato Comptroller/Receiver of Taxes 2014/2015 School Tax Warrants The Town Administrator and Comptroller explained that the primary purpose of the meeting was to request approval of the 2014/2015 property tax warrants collecting school district taxes for the Mamaroneck School District and a portion of the Scarsdale School District. It was explained to the Town Board that a special meeting was required because the Town had not received all of the final tax levy information from the Scarsdale School District in time for the August 13, 2014 regular Town Board meeting. Copies of the warrants were distributed to the Town Board along with a memorandum explaining the amounts to be collected. After a brief discussion the Town Board acted upon the warrants. On motion by Councilwoman Eney and second by Councilwoman Katz it was unanimously Resolved, that the Town Board adopts the 2014/2015 property tax warrants for the Mamaroneck and Scarsdale School Districts and be it Further Resolved, that the Supervisor is hereby authorized to execute the warrants and the Receiver of Taxes is authorized to commence property tax collection pursuant to the amounts listed in the warrants. Housing Report Review The Town Administrator reported that the Supervisor had received an e-mail from the housing monitor on August 21 indicating that a study of the 31 eligible communities zoning codes had been reviewed applying what is known as the Huntington Standard. The e-mail stated that the monitor would make available copies of the study of the Town for review and comment. There being no further business meeting was adjourned at 9:15am on motion by Councilwoman Katz and second by Councilwoman Eney.
