HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014_06_06 Town Board Minutes June 6, 2014 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD ON JUNE 6, 2014, AT 6:00PM IN CONFERENCE ROOM A OF THE TOWN CENTER, 740 W. BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK PRESENT: Supervisor Nancy Seligson Councilman Ernest C. Odierna Councilwoman Abby Katz Councilwoman Jaine Elkind Eney ABSENT: Councilman Thomas A. Murphy ALSO PRESENT: Christina Battalia, Town Clerk Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator CALL TO ORDER On motion of Councilwoman Katz, seconded by Councilman Odierna, the meeting was unanimously opened at 9:00 AM. On motion of Councilwoman Elkind Eney, seconded by Councilwoman Katz, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that Kathleen Spadaro be appointed as Member C of the Board of Assessment Review, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the foregoing appointment shall be effective immediately upon the appointee taking and subscribing the oath mandated by section 25 of the New York Town Law and shall expire on September 30, 2015. On motion of Councilwoman Elkind Eney, seconded by Councilman Odierna, the following was unanimously approved, Whereas, the Town of Mamaroneck desires to provide more opportunities for non-motorized forms of transportation and; Whereas, the Town seeks to improve pedestrian mobility particularly along the Weaver Street Corridor for access to local schools, parks and recreational facilities and; 1 June 6, 2014 Whereas the New York State Department of Transportation is sponsoring a grant program known as the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP); Now therefore be it: Resolved, that the Supervisor and Town Board wholeheartedly support an application by the Town of Mamaroneck for funding through the Transportation Alternatives Program for the extension of the Town sidewalk network on Weaver Street between Murray Avenue and Bonnie Way and supports funding 20% of the cost of the project and be it; and Be it, Further Resolved, that the Town Administrator is authorized to submit the grant application on behalf of the Town and execute all documents with respect to the grant program. Additionally, Councilwoman Katz reported that she informed the Coastal Zone Management Commission at their last meeting of the Town’s approval of the consultant to rewrite the LWRP.
