HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930_01_08 Town Board Minutes =TING OF THE JOINT TOWN BOARD TOWN OF MAYAR ONFCT,, N.Y. held January 8th, 1930 The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 5:25 P. X Present: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins and LiFessersmith Superintendent of Highways Coles Town Clerk Marvin Upon motion, duly seconded, it was voted to dispense with the reading of the minutes of meetings not yet approved. A communication was received from Charles r c Donald, County Engineer; enclosing a lithoprint map showing the proposed system of County Roads which was adopted by the Board of Super- visors, tune 17, 1929, and approved by the Honorable Arthur W. Brandt, Commissioner of Highways, in accordance with Chapter 362, Section 320E of the Highway Law of 1929. His letter requested that the map be submitted to the Town .Board for consideration and approval, saying 'if your local Board by resolution gives approval to the map, and requests that the County improves the road within said municipality as shown upon said map as County Roads, these roads will be considered for improvement as soon as they can be scheduled in order of constr- uction. When designated for improvement upon such early order of construction, we will confer with your municipal officers as to details of widths, types of paving and appurtenant structures on which your municipality desires to participate. The communication was ordered received and referred to M.r. Coles,pending definite action by the Board. An application and map of Hardscrabble, Road, which he is extending through from New Rochelle to Huguenot Place in the '£own of Mamaroneck, was received from John F.. Lamhden, 254 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle.. He requested approval of the application and map. The matter was referred to Superintendent Coles. The annual report: of Highway moneys for the year 1929 was presented by Supervisor Burton. It was ordered received, placed on file and publidied. i Upon motion to this effect, duly seconded, it was, upon roll call unanimously passed. i Justice Ness:ersmith presented a petition signed by 28 residents of the E dgewood Avenue section reciting as follows: o-THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MATULARONECR:- I The undersigned, owners of real property and residents of the Town of Mamaroneck, County of Westchester and State of ITew York, hereby petition you to build and maintain a suitable flight of steps and the necessary approaches thereto on the street known as Taylor Place, formerly lk7rtle Place, between Ndgewood Avenue and Myrtle Boulevard, in said town and county. Dated, Town of Mamaroneck, January 3rd, 1930. He added that another similar petition was being gotten up and signed by interested residents. The petition was ordered received and referred to Superintendent Coles and Counsel- or Gamble. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was upon roll call unanimously RESOLVED, that the action of the Town Board at its meeting held on January 3rd, in re- commending John L. Coles for re-appointment as Superintendent of Highways for the term commencing January let, 1930, be and the same hereby is approved, and that John L. Coles be and he hereby is appointed Superintendent. of Highways. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 5:35 P. 11► Town Clerk u� . III I II
