HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923_03_02 Town Board Minutes (2) Meeting of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK held March 2nd, 1923. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 3.30 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins and Dudley Town Clerk Sherman. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED that the reading of minutes of the previous meetings not yet approved be dispensed with. The Supervisor presented his annual report for the year 1922, which was ordered received, noted in the minutes, placed on file, and upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED that. the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to send a copy of the annual report to the State Comptroller and to have same pub- lished in accordance with law. The Supervisor presented the budget for the year 1928. After reading and discussion it was RESOLVED that the same be and it hereby is approved, spread upon the minutes, placed on file, and the Supervisor is authorized and directed to present a copy of the same to the Board of Super- visors. The budget is as follows: BUDGET of the TOWN OF MAMARONECK, NEW YORK. for the year 1923. FIRST:- RESOLVED, that there be levied and assessed upon the taxable property of the Town of Mamaroneck, and when collected, paid to the Supervisor, the following amounts for the purposes hereinafter set forth, to wit: A. To pay the salary of the Supervisor under the Westchester County Tax Act, $2,500.00 B. To pay the salary of the Clerk to the Super- visor 1,500.00 C. To pay the salary of the Town Clerk, 2,500.00 i D. To pay the salary of the Receiver of Taxes, 4,500.00 E. To pay the salary of the three Assessors 4,500.00 F. To aay the salary of the Overseer of the Poor, 1,200.00 I G. To pay the salary of the Janitress, $600.00 H. To pay the rent of Town Offices, 1,200.00 I. To pay for the temporary support of the poor, $4,500.00, less amount available for such purpose, 500.00 J. To allowances to Public Health Nurses, 1,380.00 K. To pay Memorial Day appropriation and rents American Legion quarters, 300.00 L. To pay principal on Assessment Map bond #9,1,000.00 M. To pay interest on Assessment map bonds, 75.00 N. To pay principal on Voting Machine Bond #3, 1,000.00 O. To pay interest on Voting Machine Bonds, 300.00 P. To defray expense of Garden Road Improve- ment, $3,900.00 less amount available for such purpose, 900.00 Q. To pay principal of State Highway Bond #9, (B.P.R. Improvement) 2,000.00 R. To pay interest of State Highway Bonds, (B.P.R. Improvement) 680.00 S. To pay interest of State Highway Bonds, (W.S. Fart 1, Improvement) 675.00 T. To pay for the salary of the Supervisor under the Highway Law, 1,000.00 U. To pay for the salary of the Superintend- ent of Highways, allowances and expenses, 2,500.00 V. To pay for the removal of snow, cutting weeds, brushes, etc., 1,500.00 Total amount, Town at large, $32,310.00 OUTSIDE OF THE VILLAGES OF LARCHMONT AND MAMARONECK. SECOND:- RESOLVED, that there be levied and assessed upon the taxable property of the Town of Mamaroneck, lying outside the corporate limits of the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, and collected, and paid to the Supervisor, the following amounts for the purposes hereinafter set forth, to wit: I A. To pay for the purchase and repair of machinery tools, etc, $2,000.00 B. To pay Murray Avenue improvement bond #6, of 1910, 1,000.00 C. To pay interest of Murray Avenue improve- ment bonds, issue of 1910, 125.00 D. To pay principal of Murray Avenue completion bond #8, issue of 1911, 1,000.00 E. To pay interest of Murray Avenue completion bonds, issue of 1911, 340.00 F. To pay principal of Chatsworth Avenue im- provement bond #1, $1,000.00 G. To pay interest of Chatsworth Avenue im- provement bonds, 475.00 H. To pay principal of Sidewalk bond #6, 1,000.00 I. To pay interest of Sidewalk bonds, 225.00 J. To pay for the preservation of the peace, 15,000.00 K. To pay the salary of the Health Officer, 500.00 L. To pay for the rental of street lights, 4,500.00 M. To pay for the repair and improvement of highways, 13,000.00 Total amount, Outside District, $40,165.00 FIRE DISTRICT No. I. THIRD: RESOLVED, that there be levied and assessed upon the taxable property of the Town of Mamaroneck, lying within Fire District No. 1 and collected, and turned over to the Supervisor, the following amounts for the purposes hereinafter set forth to wit: A. To pay principal of Fire Apparatus bond #5, $2,000.00 B. To pay principal of Fire House bonds, 6,500.00 C. To pay interest of Fire House bonds, 4,875.00 D. To pay rental of Fire Hydrants, 1,960.00 E. To pay compensation of Special Officers, 3,000.00 F. to pay for the collection and disposal of ashes, garbage, refuse, etc. 3,000.00 G. To pay for supplies, equipment, maintenance, etc. of fire apparatus, buildings, etc. 2,500.00 Total amount, Fire District No. 1, $23,835.00 SEWER DISTRICT NO. I. FOURTH: RESOLVED, that there be levied and assessed upon the taxable property of the Town of Mamaroneck, lying within Sewer District No.1, and when collected, turned over to the Supervisor, the following amount for the purpose hereinafter set forth, to wit: A. To pay the interest on Sewer bonds and maintenance of plant, $11,200.00 FIRE DISTRICT NO. 2. FIFTH: RESOLVED, that there be levied and assessed upon the taxable property of the Town of Mamaroneck, lying within Fire District No. 2, and when col- lected, turned over to the Supervisor, the fol- lowing amounts for the purposes hereinafter set forth, to wit: A. To pay for the rental of fire hydrants $90.00 B. To pay for the rental of fire house, repairs, maintenance, etc. of Fire Co. No. 2, 350.00 C. To pay for the collection and disposal of ashes, garbage, refuse, etc. 750.00 Total amount, Fire District #2. $1,190.00 The supervisor reported that in accordance with in- structions from this Board, he had directed that the Highway Bridge and Miscellaneous report has been given to the Larchmonter Times for publication in accordance with law.
