TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held June13th, 1923.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at
10.15 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton
Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer,
Superintendent of Highways Coles
Town Clerk Sherman
Counsellor Gamble
Uron motion, duly seconded, it was VOTED That the
minutes of the meetings of May 2nd and May 16th be approved as
printed.
The report of the Superintendent of Highways for work
performed during the month of May was received, read, ordered noted
in the minutes and placed on file.
A communication from the Larchmont Gardens Association
was received and read in relation to the finishing of the Improve-
ment of the Garden Road extension to Weaver Street. The Clerk was
requested to reply, stating the reason for the holding up of the
work.
A communication from Mr. Aldo Curioni of Vine Road in
the Woods of Larchmont was received and read, requesting the in-
stallation of a light at the end of Vine Road, and the clearing
of the street of small trees and rubbish. The same was ordered
placed on file and the matter was referred to the Superintendent
of Highways to investigate and report as to whether Vine Road was
a Town highway or not.
A communication from Mr. A. Raichardt in relation to the
installation of a water supply at Jefferson and Chatsworth Avenues
was received and react, and the Clerk was requested to reply, stat-
ing that the said street is not a Town highway.
A communication from the Colonial Park and Neighborhood
Association was received and real in relation to the removal of
rock at the northwest corner of Forest and Murray Avenues. The
matter of the rock on Marray Avenue opposite the Murray Avenue
School was also brought up, and noon motion, duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and empowered to
cause to have blasted and brokers up,
the rack lying within the street lines
of Murray Avenue under the supervision
of the Superintendent of Highways, and
be it further
RESOLVED that the expense thereof be
made a Town charge.

The ratter of the water main extension on Rockland Avenue
was taken by the Board. Upon the recommendation of the Superintend-
ent of Highways, it was
RESOLVED that the New York Inter Urban
Water Company be and it is hereby request-
ed, required and directed to extend its
water mains in and along Rockland Avenue
from the and of the present proposed main
on Forest Avenue and Rockland Avenue to
Weaver Street and connecting with the
present main at Weaver Street, and to
install one hydrant on said extension.
The Committee appointed to investigate in relation to
the acceptance of streets in Colonial Park reported favorably as
to the acceptance of said streets and Counsellor Gamble for further
report.
Upon motion of Justice Collins, seconded by Justice
Dudley, the following resolution was, upon ROLL CALL, unanimously
adopted:
RESOLVED that the Town Superintendent
of Highways be and he hereby is author-
ized and directed to cause to be laid
under his Supervision on the westerly
side of Murray avenue between the end
of the present sidewalk in a northerly
direction to the southerly side of
Forest Avenue coarse broken stone four
feet in width, preparatory to the laying
of a concrete sidewalk thereon. and be
it further
RESOLVED, that the expense thereof for
such construction be and it hereby is
levied and assessed against the taxable
property situated within sidewalk District
#1 of the town of Mamaroneck.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 10.30 P.M.
