MEETING OF THE JOINT TOWN BOARD
TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held July 7,1926.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Burton at 9.30 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton
Justices Boyd,Collins,Howell & Leeds
Superintendent of Highways,Coles
Town Clerk Sherman
Counsellor Gamble
The minutes of the meeting of June 2,1926, were
read and upon motion approved.
Mr. C.W.Moody appeared before the Board in
relation to the taking over of certain streets in Rouken
Glen as town highways.
After a general discussion of the entire matter
he was advised to submit his maps and take the same up
with the Superintendent of Highways.
Justice Leeds presented the report of the Joint
Commiteee of the Town Board of the.Town of Mamaroneck and
the Village Trustees of the Village of Larehmont on proposed
changes in the names of streets in the unincorporated part
of the Town of Mamaroneck, which report recommended that
the names of certain strdete named in said report be
altered, changed and renamed.
The Board discussed the report and recommended
and adopted several additional changes in the new names to
be given certain streets.
Upon the request of the Supervisor, Counsel
recommended that a Public Hearing be held by the Joint Town
Board and the Superintendent of Highways so that all residents
and taxpayers who might be affected in any way by the change
would have an opportunity to be heard*
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that this Board approves of the
report of the Joint Committee of theTown
Board of the Town of Mamaroneck and the
Village Trustees of the Village of Larch -
moat on proposed changes in the names of
streets in the unincorporated part of the
Town of Ramaroneck subject to the amend-
ments made at this meeting, and it was
further
RESOLVED, that the report of the aforesaid
Committee be filed.
Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
Highways, it was upon motion, duly made and seconded,
unanimously
RESOLVED, that the flown Board and
Superintendent of Highways hold a Public
Hearing at 8.30 P.M. Daylight Saving Time
on July 21st,1926 at the office of the

Town Clerk to consider and act upon the
report of the Joint Committee of the
Town Board of the Town of Ramaroneek and
the Village trustees of the Village of
Larchmont on proposed changes in the
names of streets in the unincorporated
part of the Town of Mamaroneck, at which
any citizen, resident or taxpayer inw
terested therein will be heard.; it was
further
RESOLVED, that the Counsel be and it
hereby is authorized and directed to
immediately prepare a notice of the Publi$
Hearing in proper form and containing the
proposed changes in the names of streets
in the unincorporated part of the Town of
Mamaroneck, including the changes adopted
at this meeting, which said report
recommends be altered, changed and renamed
to new names;.and it was further
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he
hereby is authorized and directed to publish
the aforesaid notice of Public Hearing in
the Daily Times on July 13th and 21st,1926.
Justice Leeds reported that he had inspected the
conditions at the end of Spruce Road in the Woods of
Larchmont, and he recommended the erection of a retaining
wall. He also reported that he had inspected the lighting
conditions at Cherry Street and Hickory Grove Drive
in Larchmont Gardens and he recommended the installation
of a light at the abovenentioned intersection. There was
no action taken at this time upon these two recommendations.
A communication from the New York Inter•Urban
Dater Company was received and read, acknowledging the
receipt of the resolution of the Joint Town Board ordering
the installation of a water main and a hydrant on Heather
Lane; and recommending the rescinding of this resolution
because of the fact that a two inch pipe is now installed
upon said streets mhieh in their opinion is large enough
to supply all of the houses that can be built upon said
street for at least fifteen years.
The communication was ordered placed on file and
the matter referred to Special Counsel, J.Henry Esser.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10 P.T.
