TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held, December 12th, 1923.
The meeting was called to order by Survervizor Burton at
10.20 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd, Collins, Shafer,
Supt. of Highways Coles,
Toivn Clerk Sherman.
Upon motion duly seconded it was voted that the minutes
of the meeting Of November 21st, 1922 be approved.
The following resolution was presented by Justice Collins,
seconded by Justice Boyd, which, upon ROLL CALL, was unanimously
adopted:
WHEREAS, the Town Superintendent of High-
ways has presented a statement from
which it appears that pursuant to reso-
Iutions of this Board he has completed
the construction of the concrete side-
walk 4 feet in width on the southerly
side of Palmer Avenue between the west-
erly boundary line of the Village of
Mamaroneck and Weaver Street, and for
that purpose he has expended the sum of
Nine Thousand One hundred and twenty-one
and 19/100 ($9,121.19) Dollars, which
includes engineering fees, now therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the sum of $9,121.19 be
and hereby is levied and assessed against
the taxable property situated within Side-
walk District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck,
and collected for the purpose of paying
the cost of laying and constructing a
concrete sidewalk 4 feet in width on the
southerly side of Palmer Avenue between
Weaver Street and the westerly boundary
line of the Village of Mamaroneck; and
be it further
RESOLVED, that this Board borrow on the
faith and credit of the Town of Mamaroneck
the sum of $9,121.19 in anticipation of
the tax levied against said sidewalk
district, as aforesaid, and be it further
RESOLVED, that a certificate of indebted-
ness be and the same hereby is directed to
be issued in the amount of $9,121.19, to
be dated December 12, 1923, which shall
become due and payable on July 1, 1924,
said certificate shall bear interest at a
rate not exceeding 6% per annum, shall be
signed by the Supervisor and attested by
the Town Clerk under the corporate seal
of said Town, shall be sold by the Super-
visor at not less than its par value, and
shall be in the following form, with the
blanks properly filled out:

CERTIFICATE OF INDEBTEDNESS
No. 5 $9,121.19
KNOW ALL ME BY THESE PRESENTS, that the Town of Mamar-
oneck, a municipal corporation within the County of Westchester,
State Of New York, acknowledges itself to be indebted, and for
value received promises to pay to
its successors or assigns, the sum of Nine Thousand One Hundred
Twenty-One and 19/100 ($9,121.19) Dollars, lawful money of the
United States of America, on July 1, 1924, with interest thereon
at the rate of % per annum.
This certificate is issued pursuant to the terms of a
certain resolution adopted at a meeting thereof to be called and
held on December 12, 1923, in anticipation of the collection of
a certain tax levied and assessed against the taxable property
situated within Sidewalk District No. 1 of said Town, for the
purpose of paying the cost of laying and constructing a concrete
sidewalk along the southerly side of Palmer Avenue, between
Weaver Street and the westerly boundary line of the Village of
Mamaroneck, in said Town of Mamaroneck.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Town Board of the Town of Mam-
aroneck has caused this certificate to be signed by its Super-
visor and to be countersigned by the Town Clerk, and the corporate
seal thereof to be hereunto affixed the 12th day of December, 1923.

Mr. Sherman presented a petition of the New Rochelle
Realty Company in which they requested that Edgewater Terrace as
laid down on the map of the New Rochelle Realty Company be accepted
as a Town Highway.
Superintendentof Highways Coles recommended the accept-
ance of said Edgewood Terrace. Thereupon Justice Collins offered
for adoption the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the highway, commonly
known as Edgewood Terrace, as laid down on
a certain map, of the New Rochelle Realty
Company, situated south of Edgewood Road,
in the Town Of Mamaroneck, be and the same
hereby is accepted as a Town highay, upon
filing with the Town Clerk the releases,
deeds and other instruments which may be
necessary, same to be approved by Counsel.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
The following resolution, upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent of Highways, was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted:
RESOLVED, that the New York Inter-Urban
Water Company, be and it hereby is re-
quested and directed to extend its water
mains in and along Edgewood Terrace,
beginning at the westerly intersection
of Edgewood Terrace with Edgewood Ave-
nue and running thence southerly in
Edgewood Terrace a distance of 560 feet,
and to install one fire hydrant at the
end of this extended main in Edgewood
Terrace.
The Supervisor brought up the question of the installation
of the water main on Rockland Avenue from the end of the present
main on Forest Avenue in a westerly direction and upon the recommen-
dation of the Superintendent of Highways, the following resolution
was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted:
RESOLVED, that the resolution heretofore
adopted at a meeting of the Joint
Board at a meeting held on June 13th, 1923
directing the installation of water mains
on Rockland Avenue from Forest Avenue to
Weaver Street and the installation of one
fire hydrant on said proposed extension,
be rescinded, and it was further
RESOLVED, that the New York Inter-Urban
Water Company, be and it hereby is re-
quested and directed to extend its water
mains in and along Rockland Avenue from
the end of the present main at the inter-
section of Rockland and Forest Avenues
westerly, a distance of 1000 feet on the
southerly side of Rockland Avenue and to
install two fire hydrants along the line
of said extension.
A communication from the Larchmont Gardens Association
was received and read requesting the Town Board to install street
signs of standard type on all streets under town control in Larch-
mont Gardens, as the present signs are unsightly and of a tem-
porary nature. The matter was referred to the Superintendent of
Highways for his report and recommendation.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.30 P.M.
