HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922_10_04 Town Board Minutes (2) Meeting of the Joint Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, October 4th, 1922. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.30 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Collins, and Shafer, Supt. of Highways Anthes, Town Clerk Sherman. The minutes of the meetings of September 6th, 8th, 13th and 14th, 1922, were read and upon motion approved. The report of the Supt. of Highways for the month of September for work performed in his Department, was received, read, ordered noted in the minutes and placed on file. Messrs. Doherty, Butler and Reis of Dillon Park were present and addressed the Board in relation to street improve- ments in that section of the Town of Mamaroneck. After full discuusion, it was upon motion duly seconded, RESOLVED, that this Joint Town Board recommend that the Supervisor and the Supt. of Highways appear before the County Engineer Mr. McDonald, requesting the release of sufficient funds to improve Moran Place and Chester Place in the Dillon Park Section of the Town of Mamaroneck. Upon the recommendation of Supt.of Highways Anthes, it was RESOLVED, that the Board inspect the highways on October 14th, 1922, at 2.30 P.M., and that the Superintendent be authorized and empowered to provide the necessary transportation. The Supervisor reported the receipt of a comrunication from the Public Service Commission reltting to the increased rates on the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that Counsel be and hereby is authorized and empowered to attend the hearing before the Public Service Commission affecting the rates of the New York New Haven and Hartford R.R.Co. Mr. Slecht of the Austin Manufacturing Company, addressed the Board in relation to purchasing a gasoline road roller for the highway department. The matter was referred to the Supervisor and the Supt. of Highways to take up and consider and bring back a report to this Board. The Supervisor brought to the attention of the Board the controversy of the boundary lire between the City of New Rochelle and the Town of Mamaroneck at Weaver Street. The matter was referred to Counsel and Supervisor Burton. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.50 P.M. Fre derick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
