HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922_09_08 Town Board Minutes (2) Meeting of the Joint Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, September 8th, 1922. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Barton at 9.00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Dudley and Shafer, Supt.of Highways Anthes, Town Clerk Sherman. The meeting was called for the purpose of receiving bids for the improvement of Palmer Avenue from Weaver Street to the Larchmont Village Line. The Clerk having read the notice published, it was upon motion, duly seconded, RESOLVED, that the bids received, pursuant to said advertisement, be now opened. The Town Clerk proceeded to open and read each of the bids received, all of which were accompanied by a certified check or cash in the required amount, and are as follows: Fleming & Sheppard, New York City, $21,813.13 Jos. Dimando, Inc. Mamaroneck, N.Y., 22,732.92 Pioneer Cont. Co. New Rochelle, N.Y., 25,681.14 Greenwich Cont. Co, Greenwich, Conn., 26,754.52 Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the bids received be referred to Mr. Sells, Assistant County Engineer to tabulate and con- sider and report back to this Board of his findings. The Board reconvened and Mr. Sells reported that he had tabulated all bids received and upon receiving his report, it was upon motion, duly seconded, RESOLVED, that this Joint Town Board defer the awarding of the contract for the improvement of Palmer Avenue from Weaver Street to the Larchmont Village line, until Wednesday eveing September 13th, 1922, at 9.30 P.M., and it was further RESOLVED, that the Clerk be and hereby is authorized and empowered to return the checks of the two lowest bidders upon receiving proper receipt at therefor. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.40 P.M. Frederick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
