TOWN OF MAMARONECK,
held, August 9th, 1922.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 10.30 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd and Collins,
Supt.of Highways Anthes,
Clerk Sherman.
Upon motion, it was voted to dispense with the reading
of minutes of meetings not yet approved.
The Supt. of Highways submitted his report for the month
of July, which was received, ordered placed on file and is as
follows:
August 9th, 1922.
To the Honorable Town Board.
Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y.
Gentlemen:
I herewith submit my report as Supt. of Highways for
work performed in this department for the period extending from
July 1st to July 31st, as follows:
Patched Old White Plains Road with tarvia and blue stone.
Patched Hillcrest Avenue with 3/4" blue stone.
Laid 35ft iron pipe across Lakeside Drive.
Cleaned gutters and catch basins in Dillon Park.
Patching Fifth Avenue with cinders and stone.
Patching Forest Aveime with tarvia and stone and also
spreading lower part of Forest Avenue with cinders.
Patching Murray Avenue with tarvia and stone.
Received from Barrett & Co. 39 bbls of tarvia.
Received from the Connecticut Quarries Co. 2 cars of
3/4" and 3 car of 1/2" blue stone.

Supt.of Highways.
The Supervisor spoke of the need of a sidewalk on Murray
Avenue near the new School and upon motion by Justice Boyd,
seconded by Justice Collins, the following resolution was adopted
upon ROLL CALL, by unanimous vote.
WHEREAS, the new Murray Avenue School
is completed and about to be opened
for the Fall Session of our School
system; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the sewer
along Murray Avenue is also completed
and there is no sidewalk laid or con-
structed on either side of Murray Ave.
between Glen Road and Forest Avenue,in
the Town of Mamaroneck; now therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that a concrete sidewalk be
laid and constructed along the easterly
side of Murray Avenue between the and
of the present sidewalk on Murray Ave.
and the southerly side of Forest Ave;
and be it further
RESOLVED, that the cost of said sidewalk
be assessed and paid for in accordance
with the provisions of Section 255 of
the Town Law; and be it further
RESOLVED, that a hearing thereon be held
at the Town Clerk's office, #6 Elm Street
in the Village and Town of Mamaroneck,
New York, on August 15th, 1922, at 8.30
p.m. (daylight saving time) and that notice
of such hearing be given by the Clerk to
the owners of land affected by said pro-
posed improvement as required by Section
255 of the Town Law; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town Superintendent of
Highways be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to secure the services of an
Engineer and obtain estimates for the con-
struction of said sidewalk and report the
same to this Board at its next meeting at
the date above indicated.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.45 P.M.
