HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922_04_19 Town Board Minutes (2) Meeting of the Joint Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, Held, April 19th,1922. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.45 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer, Supt. of Highways, Anthes, Town Clerk Sherman. Upon motion, it was voted to dispense with the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved. Mr. Esser was present and outlined to the Board the action of the Court of Appeals in denying the application of the New York Inter Urban water Company to dismiss the appeal of the Town in the water case. The report was received and ordered noted in the minutes. Justice Collins reported in relation to the proposed new street from Weaver Street into Larchmont Gardens as having met on March 25th and gone over the situation with the represent- atives interested. It was the recommendation of the Committee that if the proposed road is accepted as a Town highway, that the plans and profile as laid out by the Committee and Engineer be approved in substantially the manner presented. It was thereupon VOTED, that the report of the Committee be approved. The Committee presented communications from Mr. Heather and Mr.Barnum which after being read were ordered placed on file. A communication from Mr. McDonald, County Engineer was received and read in relation to the Weaver Street improvement which ordered placed on file and the following resolution was offered by Justice Shafer and seconded by Justice Collins; WHEREAS, the State Commission of Highways has determined to construct or improve as a County Highway with sixteen feet of cement concrete pavement such portions of the highways hereinafter described in Paragraph 2, therefore be it RESOLVED, that this Board pursuant to Art- icle 6 of the Highway Law, requests that the plans for the improvement of the high- ways as described in this paragraph be modified as provided in paragraph 3, viz; beginning at the southern extremity of C.H. No.19 known as Weaver Street and running thence southeasterly along Weaver Street to its junction with the Boston Post Road S. H. No. 5371 having a total lenghth of 7200 feet, and it is further RESOLVED, that this Board hereby agrees that the additional cost of same over the Engineers estimate for a reinforced cement concrete pavement of 16 feet, be and hereby is a charge upon said Town as provided by section 138A of the High- way Law, class of pavement reinforced concrete pavement, width 22 feet, length 7200 feet; and it is further RESOLVED, that where this resolution provides for widening the pavement to curbs, that this pavement shall be ex- tended back on intersecting streets to the street line with a width on street line to fit curb lines on intersecting street; and it is further RESOLVED, that this Board agrees to have all sewer, gas and water mains and connect- ions therewith laid in said street prior to the date of the award of the contract for the improvement. and it is further RESOLVED, that the Clerk of this Board is hereby directed to forthwith transmit 2 certified copies of the foregoing res- olution to the State Commission of High- ways. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.30 P.M. Frederick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
