TOWN OF MAMARONECK,
held, April 5th, 1922.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 9.30 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd, Collins and Shafer,
Supt. of Highways Anthes,
Town Clerk Sherman,
Counsellor Gamble.
The minutes of the meetings of March 15th, 1922 were
read and upon motion approved.
Supt.of Highways Anthes submitted his report for the
month of March, which upon motion was received, read, ordered
placed on file and is as follows:
April 1st,1922.
To the Honorable Town Board,
Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y.
Gentlemen:
I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt. of
Highways for work performed in this department for the period
extending from March 1st to March 31st, 1922, as follows:
Patched Palmer Avenue with stone.
Patched Myrtle Avenue with stone.
Repairing Rockland Avenue with store and cinders.
Repairing Myrtle Avenue with stone.
Opened drain on Howell and Chestnut Avenues and
replaced with tile pipe.
Received two car loads of stone from the Connecticut
Quarries.

A communication and tariff from the Public Service
Commission was received and read affecting rates of the West-
chester Street Railroad Company. Same was ordered placed on
file.
An application from Mr. W. H. Dugan was received and
read asking permission to operate a bus service from the New
York, Boston & Westchester station to Rye Beach. Mr.Dugan
was present and asked the Board to grant the request.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the Supervisor be and
he hereby is authorized and empow-
ered to appoint a Committee of 3
to take up with the Police Commiss-
ion, the matter of ordinances and
issuing of licenses to taxis and
buses within the Town of Mamaroneck.
The Supervisor thereupon appointed the following
Committee: Justices Shafer, Collins and Boyd.
A petition from the property owners of Fifth Avenue
running from Myrtle Avenue to the New Rochelle City line was
received and read asking that said thoroughfare be made into
a passable condition. Mr. Holler and Mr. Jacobson were present
and addressed the Board concerning the above matter. The
petition was referred to the Supt. of Highways for his report.
A communication addressed to the Supervisor was
received and read from Mr .Hugh J. Lunny, Inspector of State
Highways relating to the condition of the tracks on the Boston
Post Road. Same was referred to the Supt. of Highways to take
up with the trolley company directing them to make the necessary
repairs.
The following resolution was offered by Justice Boyd
and seconded by Justice Collins:
Upon the recommendation of the Supt. of Highways,
RESOLVED, that the New York Inter
Urban Water Company be and it hereby
is requested, required and directed
to extend its water mains in and
along Hillcrest Avenue from the end
of the present main easterly to
Weaver Street a distance of 600 feet
and to install one fare hydrant on
the southerly side of Hillcrest Ave.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.40 P.M.
