Town of Mamaroneck
held, October 5th, 1921.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at
9.20 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer,
Supt. of Highways Anthes,
Town Clerk Sherman,
Counsellor Gamble.
The minutes of the meetings of August 22nd and September
7th, 1921, were read and upon motion approved.
Supt of Highways Anthes submitted his report from the
month of September, 1921, which upon motion was ordered, received,
read, ordered placed on file and is as follows:
October 5th, 1921.
To the Honorable Town Board,
Town of Mamaroneck,
Mamaroneck, New York.
Gentlemen;
I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt. of
Highways for work performed in the Department for the period ex-
tending from September 1st, to September 30th, 1921, as follows;
Patched holes on Weaver Street with tarvia and blue stone
Cleaned gutters in Howell Park, Dillon Park and Larch-
mont Gardens.
Patched holes on Prester Street with tarvia and blue
stone.
Repaired drain with tile pipe on Myrtle Boulevard.
Making new road between Murray Avenue and Chatsworth Ave.
Received from Barrett & Company, one tank K.P. patch.

A communication from the Board of Sewer Commissioners in
relation to repairs on certain streets was received and read, ordered
filed with the Supervisor and the matter referred to the Supt. of
Highways.
Mr. Goode of Larchmont Gardens was present and it was voted
that the regular order of business be suspended in order that the
Gentlemen might be heard.
Mr. Goode spoke in relation to the residents of Larchmont
Gardens and Colonial Park being taken into the present sewer district
After full discussion, upo motion duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that it is the sense of this
Town Board that we approve of the ex-
tension of the sewer system to include
Larchmont Gardens and Colonial Park,
and it was further
RESOLVED, that the matter be referred
back to Mr. Goode for the petitioners
and the Sewer Committee.
CARRIED.
A petition from residents and owners of property on
Maple Street was received and read asking the Town Board to take
over said street as a town highway. The petition was referred to
the Supt. of Highways for his recommendation.
A communication from the New York Inter Urban Water Co.
was received and read stating their inability to comply with the
resolutions adopted by the Joint Town Board at its meeting held
August 10th, 1921, requesting the installation of water mains on
several streets of the Town highways. Communication was ordered
placed on file.
Justice dudley reported that Mr. S. Mallone, Inspector
of Sewers had reported conditions in good shape.
Justice Collins reported favorably on the petition for
a sidewalk on Palmer Avenue from the Mamaroneck Village line to
Weaver Street and recommended that the sidewalk should be laid on
the south side of the street.
Upon the recommendation of Justice Collins, it was
RESOLVED, that the Supt. of Highways
cause the necessary surveys to be made
and estimates secured for the construct-
ion of a sidewalk on Palmer Avenue,
same to be temporarily financed by
certification of indebtedness, to be
refunded by a bond issue against the side-
walk district.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same wa upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted,
Upon the recommendation of the Supt. of Highways, it was
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town
Clerk be and they hereby are authorized
to advertise and proure bids for the
laying of a sidewalk on Premium River
Road approximately 500 feet long to be
temporarily financed by certificates of
indebtedness against the sidewalk district.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
The Supervisor spoke of the need of having the lines of
Myrtle Avenue determined and upon motion, duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the Supt. of Highways be
and he hereby is authorized and empowered
to take the necessary steps to have the
lines of Myrtle Avenue determined and
monuments set and the certificate of said
survey, be filed with the Town Clerk.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.15 P.M.
