TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held, September 7th, 1921.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 9.45 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd, and Dudley,
Supt. of Highways Anthes,
Town Clerk Sherman,
Counsellor Gamble.
The minutes of the meetings of July 6th and August 10th
1921, were read and upon motion approved.
Upon motion duly seconded it was
voted that anyone present wishing
to be heard, be given the privilege
to appear before the Board.
Messrs. Summers, Tortarella and Sterapoli residing at
Beech Street near Myrtle Avenue appeared before the Board and
requested the installation of water and gas mains on said street.
After discussion it was upon motion duly seconded,
RESOLVED, that the New York Inter
Urban Water Company, be and it hereby
is authorized and directed to extend
its water mains along Beech Street
from Myrtle Avenue westerly through
said street to the end thereof.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon roll call, unanimously adopted.
Upon motion duly seconded it was
Voted, that the Westchester Lighting
Company be and it hereby is requested
to a service pipe for the supply of
gas along Beech Street from Murray Ave
to Myrtle Avenue.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon roll call, unanimously adopted.
Supt. of Highuvays Anthes submitted his report for the
month of August, 1921, which upon motion, was received, read,
ordered placed on file and is as follows:
September 7th, 1921.
To the Honorable Town Board,
Town of Mamaroneck,
Mamaroneck, New York.
Gentlemen:
I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt of
Highways for work performed in this Department for the period
extending from August 1st to August 31st, 1921, as follows:

Patched Forest Avenue with tarvia and blue stone.
Patched Forest Avenue running between Murray Avenue
and Weaver Street with cinders.
Cleaned gutters on Valley Road and Birch Road.
Began work of extending Edgewood Road between Murray
Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.

The following resolution was offered by Justice Boyd
and seconded by Justice Dudley, determining the office of Town
Superintendent of Highways to be appointive.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 41
of the Highway Law added by Chapter
231 of the Laws of 1921, this Town
Board may by unanimous vote deter-
mine by resolution that after the
expiration of the term of office of
the eleceted Town Superintendent of
Highways such office shall be filled
by appy the Town Board,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the
Town of Mamaroneck does hereby unan-
imously determine that after the ex-
piration of the term of office of
the elected Town Superintendent such
office shall be filled by appointment
by this Board, and be it further
RESOLVED, that this Board appoint a
Town Superintendent of Highways as
provided by said law not more than
thirty days before the expiration of
the term of the elected Town Super-
intendent of Highways, which said
appointed Town Superintendent of
Highways shall serve at the pleasure
of such Board, as provided by law.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution
same was upon roll call adopted by the following vote;
AYES: Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Dudley Anthes and Sherman.
NOES: None.
Upon motion the meeting adjouned at 11.00 P.M.
