HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_07_06 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Joint Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, July 6th, 1921. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.45 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer Supt. of Highways Anthes Deputy Clerk Sherman Counsellor Gamble. The minutes of the meeting of June 8th, 1921 were read, and upon motion approved. Supt. of Highways Anthes submitted his report for the month of June, 1921, which upon motion, was received, read ordered placed on file and is as follows: July 6th, 1921. To the Honorable Town Board Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y. Gentlemen: I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt. of Highways for work performed in this Department for the period extending from June 1st to June 30th, 1921 as follows: Completed patching of Weaver St. with blue stone and tarvia. Repaired Old White Plains Road and Fenimore Road with tarvia and blue stone. Cleaning gutters on Murray Avenue, Maplewood Road, Edgewood Road and Edgewood Place. Cutting creeds and grass along the highway. Received from Barrett & Co. five tanks of K.P. Respectfully submitted, sgnd, Fred'k A. Anthes. The condition of the roadway on Griffen Avenue was reported by the Supt. of Highways and it was voted that the matter be left in his hands to confer with the officials of the Town of Scarsdale. The Supt.of Highways presented several bids for the painting of Town fences and rails along the highways and upon motion duly seconded it was voted that the Board proceed to open said bids which were as follows: Michael Manning 3 1/2 cts per running foot Alvah Jerman 8 " " lineal " Sidney S. Hicks 4 " " running foot Thomas F. Manning 5 " " " " Radcliffe John H. 2 1/2 " " foot. Upon motion duly seconded it was RESOLVED, that the Supt of Highways be authorized and empowered to award painting of Town highway fences to lowest bidder ie: John H. Radcliffe provided he qualifies in signing proper contract, and it was further RESOLVED, that in the event of the Supt. of Highways failing to make such agreement, the Supt. be author- ized to conclude similiar contract with the next lowest bidder, the cost of same to ba made a proper Town charge. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously carried. A communication from the Sewer Commissioners of Sewer District #1, was received and read in relation to the taking over as Town highways the following streets; Ferndale St, Ferndale Pl, Wood St, and Beach St. The matter was referred to Counsel to report back to this Board at its next meeting. Upon the approval and recommendations of the Town Supt. of Highways, it was upon motion by Justice Boyd, seconded by Justice Collins, RESOLVED, that the Joint Town Board does hereby approve the plans and specifications for the improvement of Myrtle Boulevard proposed, by the County Supt. of Highways and present- ed to the Board, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board does hereby authorize the improvement of said Myrtle Boule- vard in accordance with the afore- said plans and specifications and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Supervisor and Town Supt. of Highways be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to confer with the County Supt. of Highways in order to carry the said improvement into effect. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon roll call, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.30 P.M. John C. Fairchild. Town Clerk. Deputy Clerk.
