HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_05_04 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Joint Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK held, May 4th, 1921. The meeting was called to Order by Supervisor Burton at 9.30 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer, Supt. of Highways Anthes, Deputy Clerk Sherman, Counsellor Gamble. The minutes of the meetings of January 5th, February 6th, March 5th, 18th, April 6th, 9th, and 11th, were seperately read and upon motion were unanimously approved. Supt. of Highways Anthes submitted his report for the month of April 1921, which upon motion was received, read, ordered placed on file and is as follows: May 4th, 1921. To the Honorable Town Board Town of Mamaroneck, Mamaroneck, New York. Gentlemen; I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt. of Highways for work performed in this Department for the period extending from April 1st to April 30th 1921 as follows; Relaying ditch with 495 ft. 6" tile pipe and making three catch basins on Myrtle Boulevard. Relaying ditch with 75 ft 8" tile pipe and making catch basin an! cement gutter on Murray Avenue and Edgewood Road, Received from John Jubb 520 yards of cinders and spread same on Palmer Avenue and Glen and Maplewood Roads. Spreading one tank of Tarvia on Palmer Avenue for cinder road. Patching Dillon Park and Weaver Street with tarvia and blue stone. Received from T. Callahan 671 cubic yards blue stone. Received Auto truck from Countu Supt. April 14th, 1921. Respectfully submitted, Sgnd, Frederick A. Anthes, Supt. of Highways. A communication from the Clerk of the Board of Sup- ervisors with certification attached reciting the allotment of the Towns share of motor vehicle fees as being $2,106.92 was received, read, ordered noted in the minutes and placed on file. Mr. Anthes presented a communication from the County Supt. of Highways Mr. MacDonald requesting the passing of the following resolution in relation to the County truck now being used by the Town. The resolution was offered by Justice Shafer and seconded by Justice Collins: WHEREAS, the County of Westchester has alloted to this Town a government truck namely; Kelly-Springfield #31524, motor #8255, for use on Town highways, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors in alloting government trucks, has adopted certain conditions governing the care and use of them, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Kelly-Springfield truck be accepted by this Board subject to the conditions adopted by the Board of Supervisors, which are as follows: 1. To assume all liability for damages of whatever nature which might arise from use of the truck. 2. To properly house and keep the truck in good repair and to pay all charges therefor. 3. To insure the truck against fire, liability and property damage, 4. To return the truck to the County in good condition whenever requested to do so by the County Supt. of Highways. 5. To pay the County of Westchester One hundred and twenty dollars ($120.00) per year for the use of the truck, and be it further RESOLVED, that the town Clerk transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the County Supt. of Highways. The question being taken upon this foregoing resolution same was upon ROLL CALL unanimously carried. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.15 P.M. John C. Fairchild. Town Clerk. Deputy Clerk.
