HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_03_05 Town Board Minutes (2) Meeting of the Joint Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK March 5th, 1921 The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 5.00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices Boyd, Dudley and Collins, Supt. of Highways Anthes, Deputy Clerk Sherman. Upon motion duly seconded it was voted that the read- ing of minutes not yet approved be dispensed with. An application for permission to operate a bus line on the Boston Post Road from Larchmont to the Village square in Mamaroneck was received, read and ordered placed on file. The Clerk was instructed to send a communication to the Village Board apprising them of the action taken in relation to the application of the bus line, as the granting of sane would interfere with the trolley action now pending in Court. Superintendent of Highways Anthes submitted the follow- ing estimates which he had procured on different sizes of blue stone and cinders. Wllliam Cochran, cinders $1.25 per yard T. Callahan " 1.50 " cubic yard T.Callahan, blue stone, all sizes $3.75 Cubic Yd. New Haven Trap Rock Co. " 2 " 1.40 Per Ton. 1 1/4" 1.60 " " 3/4" 1.80 " " 1/2 " 1.95 " " Screenings, .80 " " Upon motion it was RESOLVED, that the Supt of Highways be authorized and directed to purchase sufficient quantity of stone under the most favorable terms and conditions to the Town. CARRIED. The Barrett Company. Tarvia B. delivered and spread, 17¢ per gallon " KP. delivered and placed in barreks 21¢ " " Upon motion it was RESOLVED that the Supt.of Highways be authorized and directed to purchase the required amount of Tarvia B and Tarvia KP, under the most favorable terms and conditions to the Town. CARRIED. The Supt of Highways presentad a communication from County Supt of Highways Mr. McDonald in relation to the annual agreement into the expenditure of highway monies for the next fiscal year. The communication was ordered placed on file and the Supt of Highways requested to take the matter up With Mr. McDonald. The Supervisor spoke of themuch needed improvement of Fifth Avenue from the New Rochelle line to Myrtle Avenue stating that the improvement and elimination of the bad turns on that thoroughfare would make an ideal road connecting with the City of New Rochelle. The following Committee was appointed to take up the matter. Messrs, Boyd, Collins and Anthes. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 5:45 P.M. John C. Fairchild. Town Clerk. Deputy clerk.
