TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held December, 3rd, 1920.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at
8.30 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices, Boyd, Collins, Dudley
Supt, of Highways, Anthes,
Deputy Clerk, Sherman.
The minutes of the meetings of October 6th, 27th, November
3rd, 4th, and 30th, 1920 were read, and, upon motion approved,
Supt. of Highways Anthes submitted his report for the
month of November, 1920 which

Town of Mamaroneck,
Mamaroneck, New York.
Gentlemen:
I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt of
Highways for work performed in the Department for the period ex-
tending from November 1st, 1920 to November 30th, 1920 as follows:
Repairing Edgewood Road with tarvia B and blue stone.
Repairing Murray Avenye with tarvia B and blue stone.
Repairing roads and cleaning gutters on Valley Road and Vine Road.
Raking and burning leaves on several streets.
Repairing 300 feet guard rail along Weaver St. with posts and rails.
Cleaning catch basins on Weaver St, Howell Ave and Larchmont Gardens.

Supt of Highways.
Supt of Highways Anthes reported in relation to the work
to be done on guard rails and fences, whereupon Justice Collins
offered the following resolution which was declared adopted.
WHEREAS, the Supt. of Highways under date
of November 4th, 1920 was directed to secure
bids for replacement of rails and fences on
Town highways, and
WHEREAS, after careful investigation it wvas
found to be in the opinion of the Supt. of
Highways that the replacement by purchase
of materials and the work to be performed,
be done by men in his employ, would be more
economical to the Town.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the action
of this board in relation to replacement of
rails and fences under resolution at said
meeting be rescinded; and
FURTHER, that his recommndation and action
in relation to highway fence replacements
be and the same hereby is approved.
A communication was received from the Larchmont Gardens
Association in relation to silent policemen at several intersecting
avenues.
Upon motion it was VOTED, that the Supt of
Highways be authorized and directed to
procure the necessary danger sign for the
following places, ie Myrtle Avenye and Pres-
ton Street; Weaver, Myrtle and Palmer Lane.
and that the Clerk be directed to reply to
the Larchmont Gardens Association as to the
action of this Board.
The question being taken upon the foregoing motion, same
was declared adopted by the following vote.
AYES: Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Collins, Dudley, Anthes and Sherman.
NAYES: None.
In relation to the extension of lights on Weaver Street
which matter was referred to the Supt. of Highways, who has reported
back to this board, and after investigation finds that three lights
will be rewired to properly light Weaver Street to the Town line,
recommending ending that the same be installed, it was
RESOLVED, that the Supt. of Highways be
authorized and directed to notify the
Westchester Lighting Company to have
same installed
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was declared adopted by the following vote.
AYES: Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Sherman.
Nayes: None.
A communication was received from County Supt of Highways
Charles MacDonald in relation to plans and specifications for high-
ways and bridges. Same was received, ordered placed on file and re-
ferred to the Supt. of Highways
The Supt. of Highways reported that the Joint Board met 11/13/20
as per resolution adopted at a meeting held November 3rd, 1920, to
inspect several streets in Larchmont Gardens pursuant to a petition
dated October 15th, 1920 and filed with the Town Clerk and reports
that he does not recommend that the several streets recited in the
petition be taken over and accepted by the Town as Town highways,
at this time nor in their present condition.
Therefore, it is RESOLVED that this Board
do not at this time approve the petition
before mentioned for the aforesaid reasons
and further that the Clerk be authorized
and directed to notify the petitioners of
the action of this Board in relation thereto.
Upon ROLL CALL the Supervisor declared the forgoing res-
olution adopted.
The Supervisor reported in relation to the several trolley
hearings, stating briefly what had transpired at the hearings.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.00 P.M.
