HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920_09_01 Town Board Minutes (2) Meeting- of the Joint Town Board. TOWN OF MAMARONECK held Septembet, 1st, 1920. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.30 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices, Boyd, Collins and Shafer, Superintendent of Highways, Anthes Deputy Clerk Sherman, Counsellor Gamble. The minute of the meetings of August 4th and August 28th 1920 were read and upon motion approved. Superintendent of Highways Anthes submitted his report for the month of August, 1920, which Upon motion was read, ordered placed on file and is as follows: August 1st, 1920 To the Honorable Town Board Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y. Gentlemen: I herewith respectfully submit my report as Supt. of Highways for work performed in the department for the period extending from August 1st, 1920 to September 1st, 1920 as follows; Repairing Rockland Ave and Forest Ave with cinders also rolling with steam roller. Spreading one tank of Tarvia B oil on Rockland Ave, Cleaning gutters and repairing roads with blue stone in Howell Park and Beach St. Rolling streets in Larchmont Woods with steam roller. Cleaning gutters and cutting grass in Dillon Park. Laying 28 feet pipe across Lakeside Drive Repairing and matching Fenimore Road with Tarvia B. and blue stone Repairing and patching Myrtle Ave with Tarvia B, and blue stone. Two danger traffic signs have been placed at the intersection of Murray and Forest Avenues. Respectfully submitted, Sgn. Frederick A. Anthes Supt.of Highways. It was regularly moved and seconded that the regular order of business be suspended and anyone wishing to be heard, that they now be given the priv- ilege. Mr. T. Whitbread was present and spoke in relation to supplying gas to the residents of the Larchmont Woods section. The Supervisor and Counsel replying toMr. Whitbread's inquiry spoke of the difficulty they have experienced in getting the Westchester Lighting Lighting Co. to extend the gas mains. The Superintendent of Highways report the arrival of 300 yds of stone and that the same will be ready for hauling immediately. Mr.Anthes spoke of the sale of plow at Orienta Point and upom his recommendation it was VOTED, that the Superintedent of Highways be authorized and direct- ed to investigate the matter in relation to the purchase of the plow at Orienta Point and that he use his discretion in the purchase of same at a sum not to exceed $75. The Clerk called the Roll and all members present voted in the affirmative. There being no futher business the meeting adjourned at 10.35 P.M. John C. Fairchild, Town Clerk, Deputy
