BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONEC
HELD JULY 7TH, 1920
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Burton at 9:30 P.M.

The minutes of the meeting of June 2nd were read and

A petition for a Hook & Ladder Truck in Fire District No. 1
was received from the Chatsworth Heights Association which
Upon motion, was referred to
the Town Board for its next
meeting and the Clerk was
instructed to write to the
Secretary of the Chatsworth
Heights Association of the
action taken.
Superintendent of Highways Anthes submitted his report for
the month of June 1920 which

ordered placd on file and is
as follows:

Town of Mamaroneck
Mamaroneck, New York.
Gentlemen:
I herewith respectfully submit my report as Superintend-
ent of Highways for work performed in this Department for the
period extending from June 1st 1920 to July 1st 1920 as follows:
Cleaning gutters and repairing roads in Howell Park
Repairing and patching with Tarvia and blue stone on
Old White Plains Road.
Draining ditches between Murray and Chatsworth Aves.
Cutting weeds and trimming bushes along the Highway.

Supt. of Highways
Superintendent Anthes reported the loss of 16 lengths of
8 inch pipe in the Larchmont Woods section.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the Highway Superinten-
dent take the necessary steps for
the location and recovery of the
stolen pipe.
In the matter of drainage of Howell Park it was
RESOLVED, that the Superintendent
of Highways be authorized and dir-
ected to take up with the Health
Officer the question of drainage
in Howell Park as per the complaint
of Mr. Merritt and others, invest-
igate the matter and report back to
this Board at its next meeting.
Justice Dudley offered the following resolution which was
seconded by Justice Boyd.
WHEREAS, ALMIGHTY GOD in His Divine
Wisdom has seen fit to remove from our Com-
munity beloved Townsman William F. Reily
who gave his life in the pursuit of duty on
the 5th day of July, nineteen hundred and
twenty; and
WHEREAS, during his career as an Off-
icer he had endeared himself to all by his
faithfulness to duty and hissterling qual-
ities as a man, husband and father and his
kindly, courteous and cheerful disposition,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that we the members of the
Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck record
our deep sorrow for the loss sustained in
the death of our beloved friend William F.
Reily, and that we extend to his family our
most sincere sympathy; be it further
RESOLVED, that these resolutions be
spread upon the minutes and that the Super-
visor be reouested to present to the fanily
a certified copy thereof.
Upon ROLL CALL the following voted in the affirmative,
G.W.Burton; W.A.Boyd; P.H.Collins; G.B. Dudley; F.P. Shaferl F.A. Anthes
and F.M. Sherman.
Negative; None.
The Supervisor thereupon declared the resolution adopted.
Th e question of trolley fares was discussed in relation th
the Westchester street Railway Company after which the following
resolution was offered by Justice Boyd and seconded by Justice
Dudley.
Be it RESOLVED, that the Town Counsel be and
he hereby is directed to take the necessary
steps to test the legality of the recent
order of the Public Service Commission 2nd
District, under which the Westchester Street
Railroad Company is collecting 25 cents fare
from Chatsworth Avenue, Larchmont to White
Plains and vice versa.
Upon ROLL CALL the following voted in the affitmative;
Burton, Boyd, Collins, Dudley, Shafer, Anthes and Clerk.
Negative; None.
The Supervisor thereupon declared the resolution adapted.
The Supervisor stated that Mr.Hendrix has applied
to the Superintendent in relation to improvements fronting
on his property on Weaver Street.
Upon notion the matter was referred
to the Supeyintendent of Highways.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 11.15 P.M.
