JOINT TOWN BOARD of the
Town of Mamaroneck held,
March 31st,1920.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Burton at 11.15 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices, Boyd, Dudley and Shafer
Superintendent of Highways Anthes,
Deputy Clerk Sherman,
Counsellor Gamble.
Upon motion, duly seconded the
minutes of the meeting of Feb-
ruary 16th,1920 were read, and
approved.
Superintendent of Highways Anthes submitted his
report for the period of February 1st, 1920 to February 29th, 1920
Upon motion,duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the same be filed,
and is as follows:

Gentlemen:
I herewith respectfully submit my report as Superintendent
of Highways for work performed in this Department for the period
extending from February 1st to February 29th,1920 as follows,
Draining ditch between Chatsworth Avenue and Murray Avenue.
Removing snow and ice from culverts and sidewalks on
Murray Avenue, Chatswoth Avenue, Myrtle Avenue, Weaver Street, and
Boston Post Road. Also from Larchmont Gardens, Woods of Larchmont ,
Howell Park and Dillon Park.
Removing snow drifts on Old White Plains Road and
Fenimore Road.

A petition from the residents of Chetnut Avenue
asking the Board to change the name of the street to Hillcrest
avenue was received, read, and
Upon the recommendation of Supt.
Anthes, on motion duly seconded
it was VOTED, that the street
known as Chestnut Avenue be changed
to Hillcrest Avenue as per the pet-
ition of the property owners and
FURTER, that the Superintendent of
Highways be authorized and directed
to procure the necessary sign and
have same erected.
A petition from the residents of Caerleon Ave.
requesting that the Town Board accept the street as a
Town Highway was received, read and
Upon the recomendation of Superintendent Anthes,
It was moved and seconded that
Counsel be authorized and dir-
ected to prepare the necessary
papers and secure the releases
in connection with the petition
for the acceptance and taking
over of Caerleon Avenue as a
Public Highway.
The Clerk called the Roll. Voting in the affirmative,
Burton, Boyd, Dudley Shafer and Clerk.
Negative, None.
The Supervisor thereupon declared the motion carried.
The Supervisor spoke in reference to the bill
of the New York Inter Urban Water Company, and
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that Counsellor Gamble in-
vestigate the claim of
the New York Inter Urban Water Co.
insofar as it affects the Town of
Mamaroneck.
The Superintendent of Highways reported that the
men working on the Highways requested an increase in wages.
Upon motion, duly seconded it was
VOTED, in consideration of the
report of Superintendent Anthes in
relation to the wage scale that the
matter be left to his discretion.
The Superintendent recommended that the safety light
at the junction of Chatworth and Myrtle Avenues hereafter
be taken care of by the Constables, and
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the Superintendents
recommendation be complied with
and that the Supervisor be directed
to notify the Constables to that
effect and to also notify Mr. Stevens
the present caretaker of the action
of this Board.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the Superintendent of
Highways be authorized and direct-
ed to procure quotations on stone,
cinders tarvia and road oil.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.45 P.M.
