HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920_02_06 Town Board Minutes Minutes of a Meeting of the Joint Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck held February 6, 1920 The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9:45 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd and Shafer, Superintenfint of Highways Anthes, Frederick M. Sherman, Deputy Town Clerk. Justice Landolfe of the Tom of Har- rison and A. S. Fairllace, were also present. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the reading of the minutes, of meetings not yet approved be dispensed with. Superintendent of Highways Anthes submitted his report for the period of January 2nd to January 31st, incl- usive, 1920. Upon motion dul y seconded, it was VOTED, that the same be filed, and is as follows: "Office of SUPERINTENDENT OF HIGHWAYS Town of Mamaroneck New York Post Office Box 475. Mamaroneck, N.Y. February 6th, 1920. To the Honorable Board, Town of Mamaroneck, Mamaroneck, N. Y. Gentlemen:- I herewith respectfully submit my report as, Superintendent of Highways for work performed n the depart- ment for the period extending from J ny 2nd 1.920 to Jany- 31st 1920, as follows: Repairing and cleaning out culverts in Howell Park, Dillow Park, Larchmont Gardens, Woods of Larchmont and Weaver Street. Draining ditches on Fifth Ave. and Chestnut Ave. and Edgewood Ed. Removing snow and ice from Dillow Park, Howell Park, Weaver St., Murray Ave, Myrtle Ave., Edgewood Rd., Larchmont Gardens, Woods of Larchmont and Boston Post Road. Respectfully submitted (SGD) FREDERICK ANTHES Superintendent of Highways A communication from the Westchester Street Rail- road Company was read, and upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the same be received and placed on file. Justice Landolfe, of the Town of Harrison, dis- cussed the matter with the Board and was asked to submit the terms of the proposition submitted by president Miller to the Town Board of Harrison, with the request that the Town of Harrison appoint a committee to confer with the committees of the Villages of Mamaroneck and Larchmont and the Town of Mamaroneck, all of which municipalities would be affected by the proposition submitted by President Miller and the consent of all of which municipalities would be necessary for the carrying out of the arrangement proposed by the railroad officials. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, whereas heretofore and on December 23rd, 1919, County Superintendent of High- ways McDonald prepared a certificate addres- sea to the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Mamaroneck described as Estimate #5 (FINAL), copies of which certificate were delivered to Joseph Dimando Inc., and to Super- visor Burton, which said certificate certified to the satisfactory completion of the contract for the Palmer Avenue Improvement, and recom- mended that the sum of $2646.60 be paid to the contractor, and further, that out of the balance remaining unpaid under this estimate the sum of $2,00.00 be retained for the work on shoulders along this improvement, and WHEREAS, on the 29th day of December, 1919, the Town Superintendent of Highways approved the estimate and also recommended the accep- tance of this work upon the terms and con- - ditions set forth in the estimate of the County Superintendent of Highways, NOW, THEREFORE, be it VOTED, that this Joint Town Board does hereby approve the recommendation of the County Super- intendent of Highways McDonald as set forth in his estimate and certificate of December 23rd, 1919 and the recommendation of the Superintendent of Highways that the work be accepted and does hereby accept said work upon the terms set forth in skid recommendation, and be it further 197 VOTED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to pay to the said Joseph Dimando Inc., the sum of $2646.60 as set forth in the certificate and estimate heretofore mentioned.
