Board of the Town of Mamaroneck
held January 26, 1920.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Burton at 10:45 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Collins, Boyd, Shafer and Dudley,
Superintendent of Highways Anthes,
Deputy Clerk Sherman,
Ralph A. Gamble, Counsel.
Upon motion duly seconded, it was
VOTED, that the reading of minutes of
meetings not yet approved be dispensed
with.
Supervisor Burton stated that there was still a
balance due the Wulff Engineering Company for the construc-
tion of the Winfield Avenue Bridge.
Upon motion duly seconded, and upon roll call, it
was
VOTED, whereas the County Superintendent
of Highways and the Town Superintendent
of Highways of the Town of Mamaroneck
have both heretofore recommended to the
Town Board the acceptance of the Winfiend
Avenue Bridge;
THEREFORE IT IS VOTED, that in accordance
with said recommendations the Joint Town
Board hereby accepts the said bridge; and
IT IS FURTHER VOTED, that the Supervisor
be and he hereby is authorized and empow-
ered to pay the Wulff Engineering Company
the balance remaining unpaid on its con-
tract in accordance with the letter from
County Superintendent of Highways McDonald,
- dated November 19, 1919, addressed to the
Superintendent of Highways, and filed with
the Supervisor.
The Supervisor brought up the question of financing
the payment for the construction of both the Winfield Avenue
and Forest Avenue bridges.
Upon motion duly seconded, and on roll call,
it was
VOTED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized and empowered to issue
in behalf of the Town of Mamaroneck
one or more certificates of indebted-
ness, the aggregate amounts not to
exceed the respective contract prices
for the construction of the Winfield
Avenue and Forest Avenue bridges, such
certificate to mature at such time as
the Supervisor may deem advisable and
to bear interest at the rate not exceed-
ing 6% and to be disposed of at not
less than par.
The supervisor presented a letter from the West-
chester Street Railway Company, which, upon motion, was
ordered filed with the Supervisor without action.
Superintendent of Highways Anthes stated that he
was becoming settled in his work and reported progress.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 11:20 P.M.
Town Clerk
