HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919_11_10 Town Board Minutes Minutes of a Meeting of the Joint Town Board, Town of Mamaroneck, held November 10th, 1919. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9:00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Collins, Boyd and Dudley, Superintendent Hickey, J.C. Fairchild, Town Clerk, Charles McDonald, County Superintendent of Highways. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved be dispensed with. Supervisor Burton stated that the meeting had been called for the purpose of opening bids, and awarding the contract for the construction of the Forest Avenue Bridge. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the Board proceed to open all bids submitted. The Clerk opened all the bids which he had re- ceived and each being accompanied by a certified check in the sum of $200.00, and in all other respects conforming to the conditions, which bids were as follows: A. G. Vermilya $1997.20 Walff Engineering Go. 1845.00 Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, that Superintendent McDonald and Superintendent Hickey confer on the bids as presented, tabulate same, and report back to the Board their recommendation. The Board thereupon recessed for 10 minutes, after which Superintendent McDonald and Superintendent Hickey re- ported that it was their recommendation that the contract be awarded to the Wulff Engineering Company, the lowest bidder, at a price of $1845.00 Upon the recommendation of Superintendent Hickey, motion duly seconded, and upon roll call, it was unanimously: VOTED, that the contract for the construc- tion of the Forest Avenue Bridge be awarded to the Wulff Egineering Company at a price of $1845.00, said bridge to be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by County Superintendent of Highways Mcdonald, and that the successful bidder be required to give a bond for $1,000.00 in form satisfactory to Counsel; and it was FURTHER VOTED that Counsel prepare a con- tract for the carrying out of the said con- struction work, and that the proper officers be and they hereby are authorized and em- powered to execute said contract for and on behalf of the Town. Upon motion duly seconded, it was VOTED, that all other bids be rejected, and that checks deoosited by said unsuccessful bidders be returned forthwith. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 9.30 P.M.
