HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919_07_07 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Joint Town Boards of the Towns of Mamaroneck and Harrison held on July 7th, 1919, at the Town Clerk's office, Town of Mamaroneck. Supervisor Burton of the Town of Mamaroneck called the meeting to order at 8:45 P.M. Present: Town of Mamaroneck - George Burton Supervisor, Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer, John Hickey, Superintendent of Highways, John C. Fairchild, Town Clerk, and Ralph A. Gamble, Town Counsel. Town of Harrison - Justices George A. Danner, Charles B. Young, Lorenzo C. Landolfe and Ellywood B. Platt, Michael H. White, Superintendent of High- ways, John A. Strothkamp, Town Clerk, and Chas. McDonald, County Supt. of Highways. Upon motion, Mr. Burton, Supervisor of the Town of Mamaroneck was chosen Chairman of the meeting. The Chairman stated that the meeting had been called to open all bids submitted for the constructed of the Winfield Avenue Bridge. Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED: That the Joint Boards proceed to open the bids received. The following bids were received, each being accom- panied by a certified check in the proper amount: Wolff Engineering Co. $2,500.00 Joseph Dimando, Inc. 3,149.00 Tony Miele 3,066.80 Greenwich Contracting C 3,564.50 Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED: That the Superintendent of Highways, Mr. Hickey and White, together with Mr. McDonald, County Superintendent of Highways, retire and tabulate the bids. After having completed the tabulation of the bids, Messrs. McDonald, Hickey and White returned, and Mr. White stated that the Wolff Engineering Company bid was $500.00 lower than the next lowest bid and moved that they recommended that the con- tract for the building of the Winfield Avenue Bridge be awarded to the Wolff Engineering Co. at price of $2,500.00 Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED: That the check of the successful bidder be re- tained until a contract is executed and a bond furnished in the amount called for by the specifications and in form satisfactory to Counsel, and that checks of all unsuccessful bidders be returned. Upon the reccomendation of the Superintendents of Highways and on motion duly seconded it was VOTED: That Counsel for the Town of Mamaroneck prepare the proper form of contract, and that the Supervisor, Town Clerk and Superintendent of Highways of the respective Towns be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract for and on behalf of said respective Towns. Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED: That the check of the Wolff Engineering Company be filed with Supervisor Burton. There being no further business, on motion the meeting adjourned to meet at the call of the Chairman. Town Clerk.
