HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919_05_19 Town Board Minutes (2) Minutes of a meeting of the Joint Town Boards of the Town of Mamaroneck and the Town of Harri- son, held at Mamaroneck, N.Y. on May, 19th 1919. Supervisor Burton called the meeting to order and on motion duly made, seconded and carried, Supervisor Bull of the Town of Harrison was elected Chairman. The Town Clerks of the respective Towns acted as clerks of the meeting and reported the following present: Justices E. B. Platt, Chas. B. Young, Lorenzo,C. Landolfe, Geo. A Danner, Superintendent of Highways Michael H. White, Supervisor/G.W. Burton, Justices W. A. Boyd, F. B. Shafer, G. B. Dudley, Commissioner of Highways John Hickey, Counselor Ralph A. Gamble, Assistant County Engineer Chas. A. Sells. Supervisor Bull stated that the object of the meeting was to decide upon the question of the construction of a Bridge over the Mamaroneck River on Winfield Avenue. This this bridge joined the Town of Mamaroneck with the Town of Harrison and both were interested in the same. Assistant County Engineer Sells was present on behalf of the County Engineer, and presented the sketches and plans for the proposed bridge, stating that the approximate cost of same would be $3,000.00. Upon motion of Supervisor Burton, seconede by Justice Boyd, it was RESOLVED, that the location, and style of the proposed bridge be in accordance with the recommendations of the County Engineer as shown on the plans presented. Upon motion of Supervisor Burton seconded by Justice Young, it was RESOLVED, that the matter of obtaining bids for con- struction of the said bridge bereferred to the Superintendent of Highways of the respective towns, to confer with the County Engineer, have the plans and specifications prepared and ad- vertise for sealed bids for the work; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said bids be opened at a subsequent joint meeting of the Boards, the date of said meeting to be left to the discretion of the Superintendents of Highways. Upon motion it was RESOLVED that Superintendents Hickey and White confer with the Village of Mamaroneck in reference to the change of grade of certain village streets effected by the erection of the new bridge. Upon motion it was RESOLVED, that Justice Danner communicate with the County Engineer and notify him of the action of the Town Boards taken at this meeting. Upon motion it was RESOLVED; that a suitable tablet be prepared and placed upon the bridge as and when constructed. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 9:40 P.M., to meet again at the call of the Chair. Town Clerk
