of the Town of Mamaroneck held May 13th, 1919.
Supervisor Burton called the meeting to order at 10:55
P.M.
The Clerk reported the following present:
Supervisor Burton, Justices Collins, Boyd, Dudley and shafer,
Superintendent Hickey, Clerk Fairchild, and Ralph A. Gamble,
Counsel.
Upon motion it was
RESOLVED that the reading of the minutes if meetings
not yet approved be dispensed with.
The Clerk read a communication received from County
Treasurer Archer, stating that the joint apportionment of the
motor vehicle fees was $1431.91, and that the apportionment
for State aid under the Highway Law was $3203.88, which re-
ceived and ordered filed.
The Clerk read a communication from County Engineer
Charles MacDonald, Jr., regarding Winfield Avenue Bridge.
On motion the same was received and ordered filed, and
Superintendent Hickey authorized to set a date for a joint
meeting of the joint town boards or Mamaroneck and Harrison.
The report of the Superintendent of Highways was re-
ceived, read, and upon motion was ordered filed, and is as
follows:

To the Honorable Town Board of Mamaroneck,
Mamaroneck, New York.
Gentlemen:
I hereby report the following work on highways
since the last regular meeting:
Cleaned gutters on Weaver Street from Myrtle Ave to Post
Road. Unloaded four cars of cinders, which were spread on
Chatsworth Avenue, from Highland to Glen Road, Spruce Road,
Fern Road and a portion of Glen Road. Unloaded one car
of reinforced concrete pipe, 400 feet of 8 inch, 80 feet
of 12 inch. Graded and layed 8 inch pipe at the intersection
of Edgewood Ave and Edgewood Place, Edgewood Place and
Murray Ave, Maplewood Street and Murray Ave. Unloaded five
cars of stone, 4 cars 1 1/2" and one car of screenings.
Macadamed Highland Ave from Chatsworth Ave to the New Rochelle
line, a distance of 600 feet. Layed 150 feet of macadam on
Poplar Road. Used steam roller three days rolling Chatsworth
Ave, Glen Road, Spruce Road, Ferb Road and Highland Ave.
Four lights installed at the intersection of Valley Road
and Birch Road, one at Valley ad Glen, one at Valley and
Fern, one at Glen and Bungalow.

The Superintendent of Highways presented bids which he
had received for excavating on Edgewood Road as follows:
Michael Deccico - Rock $7.50 cu. yd.
Earth 1.20 cu. yd.
Oresti Poccia - Rock $6.00 cu. yd.
Earth 1.00 cu. yd
Upon motion it was
RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways be authoriz-
ed and empowered to proceed with the work and to let the contract
to the party having the proper equipment to carry on same, and
be it further
RESOLVED that the sum of $600 be appropriated for said
purpose.
The Superintendent of Highways presented a bid from the
Standard Oil Company for road oil at a price of 8 1/2 cents ap-
plied. Upon motion it was
RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways be authoriz-
ed to purchase such an amount of road oil as in his judgement he
deems advisable.
Upon motion the Superintendent of Highways was authoriz-
ed and directed to purchase one boat load of crushed stone
from T. Callaghan at a price not to exceed $3.00 per cubic yard
delivered, and the necessary 1 1/2" stone from the Connecticut
Quarries Company at a price of not to exceed $1.00 per ton
f.o.b. quarry.
Upon motion it was
RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways take the
necessary steps to proceed with the improvement of Palmer Ave-
nue easterly of Weaver Street.
Upon motion it was
RESOLVED that the Supervisor appoint a committee to take
steps to acquire the necessary property adjacent to Weaver
Street and Palmer Avenye for the required improvement of the
highway at this point.
Superintendent Hickey reported that there were certain
defects along the tracks of the Westchester Street Railway Com-
pany on the Post Road. Upon motion the matter was left in the
hands of Superintendent and Counsel.
Upon motion the Superintendent of Highways was directed
to again take up the matter of having the defective paving re-
paired on the Post Road with the Westchester Electric Railway
Company.
Upon motion it was
RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Highways be authoriz-
ed and directed to notify the New York and Stamford Railway Com-
pany that the Town of Mamaroneck intended forthwith to pave
Palmer Avenue from the easterly boundary line of the Town
of Mamaroneck with the westerly boundary line of the Village
of Mamaroneck to the westerly boundary line of the Town of
Mamaroneck with the easterly line of the Village of Larchmont
and Palmer Avenue.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 12:05 A.M.
