HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919_02_11 Town Board MinutesMeeting of the Joint Town Board, Town of Mamaroneck, held February 11th, 1919. Supervisor Burton called the meeting to order at 8:30 P.M. The Clerk reported the following present: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boys, Collins, Dudley and Shafer, Superintendent of Highways Hickey, Town Clerk Fairchild Ralph A. Gamble, Counsel. Upon motion the reading of the minutes of previous meetings not yet approved, was dispensed with. The Supervisor stated that the meeting had been called for the purpose of discussing the New York & Stamford Rail- road proposed Zoning Plan, which plan was to be presented to the Board by President Miller. Upon motion it was RESOLVED that the Officers of the New York & Stamford Railroad Company be now heard. The following officials were present: President Miller, Superintendent Young and Mr. McKinley, Counsel. President Miller spoke at length regarding his plan for estabilishing a zoning plan, with a charge of five cents (5¢) in each zone instead of asking for an increased fare. Presi- dent Miller explained the situation as a whole and asked the Board's approval of the Zone Plan. The Supervisor and the memers of the Board then took up the question of the ten-cent (10¢) fare to New Rochelle and discussed the matter in detail and stated to the Officials that some relief must be given. the whole question was gone into fully by the Town Officials. President Miller stated that it was his desire to give the relief asked for, but that at the present time he was bound by a contract agreement, but he hoped he would be successful in making some adjustment. Mr. Lyons and Mr. Faillace were present and were heard by the Board upon the matter under discussion. Upon motion it was RESOLVED that the hearing be closed and that the Board take the matter under advisement. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 11:05 P.M. Town Clerk.
