HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922_09_08 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, September 8th, 1922. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 10.40 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Dudley and Shafer, Town Clerk Sherman. Upon motions it was voted to dispense with the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved. A communication was presented by Mr. Whitaker that he had received from Mr. Hendrix of Weaver Street requesting the Board to remedy the street and fences at his property. The matter was referred to the Supt.of Highways and the Supervisor with power to remedy the conditions. The Clerk reported that Primary day will fall on Sept- ember 19th and that no polling places had been designated for Primary, Registration or Election purposes. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 74 of the Election Law, the following are designated as polling places for the official Primary, Registration and Election days; First District Volunteer Fire House, Mamaroneck Ave, Mamaroneck, N.Y. Second District Town Hall, Prospect Avenue, Mamaroneck, New York. Third District Mamaroneck Sales and Service, West Boston Rd, Mamaroneck N.Y. Fourth District Weaver St. Fire House, Edgewood Rd, Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y. Fifth District Larchmont Athletic Club, Boston Post Road, Larchmont,N.Y. Sixth District Northerly side of Post Road between Mayhew and Beach Aves. Larchmont, N.Y. And it was further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized and empowered to cause such notice of designation of polling places to be published in the three local papers. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that we now proceed to appoint Inspectors of the various Districts in accordance with Section 311 of the Election Law. The Board thereupon proceeded to appoint the following Inspectors. First District. Republican Party Domenic Nordechia and Emmet J. Hausler. Democratic Party Jeremiah Manning and Charles P. Caputo. Second District. Mrs. S. B. Griffen and George W.Blizzard. Democratic Party Awrey Harris and Henry A. Ebner. Third District. Republican Party Mrs. Donald B. Stevens and Wiliam D. Daymon. Democratic Party Daniel Bauldorf and Frank Monuese. Fourth District. Republican Party Ralph Cheney and Harry Schwartz. Democratic Party William I. Palmer and Charles H. Lighte. Fifth District. Republican Party. Howell F. Dobbs and Charles Ruck. Democratic Party. George McKeand and Janes Mullin Sixth District. Republican Party Denis Bohan Jr. and Frederick Smith. Democratic Party Cornelius Fitzsimmons and Lester Faurot. Clerks, Fifth District. George Butterfield and Mrs.Julia Brennan. The Clerk reported the receipt of several deeds from the Sewer Commissioners and the same were referred to Counsel for correction. The Clerk reported the need of a map showing the streets accepted as town highways, places where hydrants are located and also showing the location of street lights and water mains. The matter was referred to the Town Clerk and it was RESOLVED, that Mr. Fish be and he hereby is requested to prepare a map for street and public service purposes and that the cost of securing the needed equipment be made a proper town charge. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.15 P.M. Frederick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
