HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920_12_15 Town Board Minutes Minutes of Meeting of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK held December 15th ,1920 The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9 .00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices, Boyd, Dudley and Shafer Deputy Clerk Sherman Counsellor Gamble. The minutes of the meeting of November 17th, 1920 were read and upon motion approved. The report of the Receiver of Taxes for the month of November, 1920 was received, read, ordered placed on file and is as follows: TOWN OF MAMARONECK. Burton, Supervisor Town of Mamaroneck, Mamaroneck N.Y. Dear Sir: I herewith report the amount of fees collected in the Town Clerk's office for the month of November, 1920 as follows: Dog licenses issued 7 $1.75 Lost tags " 3 .75 Hunting, licenses " 29 7.25 Marriage " " 6 6.00 Chattels filed 35 4.20 Total amount received $ 19.95 Respectfully submitted John C. The report of the Supervisor for the month of November, 1920 was received, read, ordered placed on file and is as follows; December 1st ,1920. Gentlemen; The following is my financial report for the month ending November 30th, 1920, to wit:- Balance on hand November 1st, 1920, $87,667.33 Deposited by Receiver of taxes, $8,982.83 Recd from Counter Treas. Geo. W. Burton, Supervisor. The Supervisor presented a communication from the New York & Stamford Railway Company in relation to reduction of service after 8 P.M. Same was ordered received, filed with the Supervisor and the Clerk was instructed to write to the trolley Company acknowledging receipt of their communication and also to invite their representative to appear at the next Joint Town Board meeting. A communication from the Public Service Commission in relation to revised schedule of tariffs of the Westchester Lighting Company was received, read and referred to Counsel. A communication was received from Frank N. Marzione, quoting prices on bicycles for the Patrolmen. Same was read, ordered filed with the Clerk, and upon motion by Justice Dudley seconded by justice Boyd it was RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be appointed a committee of two to purchase two new bicycles and that the same be made a proper town charge. The question being taken upon the forgoing resolution, same was declared, adopted by the following vote. AYES: Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Dudley, Shafer and Sherman. NAYES: None. The Clerk presented the bond of Frederick H. Sherman, Deputy Town Clerk. Same was referred to Counsel for his approval as to suffieciency and form. Counsel reported the approval of the Deputy Clerks bond and same was accepted and ordered filed with the Supervisor. Counsel reported the dissapproval of the Torn Clerk' s bond and same was ordered returned to the surety company for correction. The resignation of Officer Bloomer was received and read, and Upon motion by Justice Dudley, seconded by Justice Shafer, it was RESOLVED, that the action of the Super- visor be confimmed in reference to the suspension of Peace Officer Bloomer. The question being taken upon the foregoing motion, same was declared, carried. Upon motion by Justice Shafer, seconded by Justice Dudley, it was RESOLVED, THAT THE resignation of Officer Bloomer be referred to the Supervisor for his report and recommendation. The question being taken upon the foregoing motion, same was declared carried. There being no further business , upon motion the meeting adjourned at 12 M. John C. Fairchild Town Clerk. Deputy Clerk.
