HomeMy WebLinkAbout1918_12_05 Town Board Minutes 65 Meeting of the Joint Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck, held December 5th, 1918. The meeting was called to order at 10 P.M. by Super- visor Burton. The Clerk reported the following present: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Dudley; John Hickey, Superintendent of Highways, J.C . Fairchild, Town Clerk, Ralph A. Garble, Counsel . On motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of previous meetings not yet ap- proved be read. The minutes were separately read and upon motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of Meetings of June 10, 1918, July 15, 1918, August 8, 1918, August 15, 1918, August 17, 1918, August 26, 1918, October 4, 1918, October 8, 1918, November 8, 1918 and of November 21, 1918 were approved. A communication from Weaver Street Fire Company requesting the presence of the Joint Town Board at a House Warming on December 11, 1918 was presented. Upon motion it was RESOLVED that the communication be received, placed on file, and that the Supervisor acknowledge receipt of same and inform Captain McGiveney that the Board accents the invitation and that all members expect to be present. A report from Superintendent of Highways in relation to Winfield Avenue Bridge was presented to the meeting. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was RESOLVED that the Supervisor appoint a Committee of Three, including the Supervisor, to confer with the Harrison Joint Town Board in relation to the repair or restoration of the Winfield Avenue Bridge, the Committee to report back to this Board . Supervisor Burton appointed Supt. Hickey and Justice Shafer. Mr. Palmer appeared before the Board in relation to the Bridge over Forest Avenue and was informed by the Superintendent of Highways that it was unsafe to drive the Fire apparatus over this bridge, but that it was a privately owned bridge and not under the jurisdiction of the Joint Town Board. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Superintendent of Highways be requested to notify Captain McGiveney that the Forest Avenue bridge was unsafe for crossing with the Weavre Street Fire apparatus, and that the Captain so notify the Engineer. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was RESOLVED that a public hearing be held at Weaver Street School in relation to the proposed outlet and sewer on Wednesday, December 18, 1918, at 8.15 P.M. and that the Supervisor be author- ized and directed to publish proper public notices of said meeting. The matter of Lights on Weaver Street reported to the Board by Superintendent Hickey, was referred to Supervisor Burton for his personal attention. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 10:55 P.M. Town Clerk.
