held November 21st, 1918 at 10 P.M.
Supervisor Burton called the meeting to order.
The Clerk reported the following present: Supervisor
Burton, Justices Collins, Boyd, Shafer and Dudley, John Hickey,
Superintendent of Highways, J.C. Fairchild, Town Clerk, Ralph A.
Gamble, Counsel.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the reading
of minutes of previous meetings not yet approved was dispensed with.
The Superintendent of Highways reported upon matters under
his supervision from October meeting to date.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the report
was received and ordered spread upon the minutes.

Gentlemen:
I hereby report the following work on highways, since the
regular Oct. meeting; graded and repaired Highland Ave., consisting
of filling all depressions rolling and a light coat of screening,
unload 2 cars of cinders, go cubic yards sane spread on Glen Road,
graded Bungalow Road, Spruce Road, Birch Road; Fern Road, Chatsworth
Ave from Highland Ave. to Glen Road; cleaned gutters on Valley Road,
also filled a deep depression on Valley Road, where Chreesher was
a space about 75 feet, rakes leaves on several streets, also raked
loose stone on the streets in Larchmont Gardens; repaired Weaver St.
from Edgewood Road to the Taylor property; cleaned brook on Fifth
Avenue from New Rochelle line to Monroe Ave., also Monroe to Myrtle
Avenue.

A communication from Superintendent of Highways McDonald
was, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, was ordered to
take its regular course.
A communication from Edwin Duffy, Commissioner U.S.
Collaborator, was upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, re-
ceived and ordered placed on file.
A communication from Charles McDonald, County Engineer,
was upon notice duly made, seconded and carried, received and
ordered placed on file.
The Supt. of Highways reported on the Forrest avenue
Extension East of Weaver Street up to date that Mr. Lorenzen' is
of the opinion that this is not the proper time to take the matter
up on account of scarcity of labor and material, but Superintendent
Hickey stated he would still try to advance the project.
The Superintendent of Highways also reported that the
Lighting Company had stated that the Federal authorities oppose
any further extensions of lines at this time.
Upon motion duly made seconded and carried, it was
RESOLVED, that the informal report of the Superintendent
of Highways be approved.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the matter
of the Highway agreement was laid over until next meeting.
Superintendent Hickey requested the authorization of the
Board to procure 15 yards of Send for sprinkling sidewalks during
winter, same to be stored at Weaver Street.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
authorization was adopted .
The Superintendent reported cancellation of purchase
of cinders from New Haven Railroad on account of excessive raise
in cost of same, and asked authorization to purchase not to exceed
50 yard locally. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried,
the request was approved .
The Supervisor reported in the meetings in regard to
the Trolley situation held at the Town hall with Village authori-
ties and also with the Railroad Committee of the City of White Plains
held at Mr. Condit's office. After a discussion of the situation,
it was upon motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously
RESOLVED the Counsel prepare a proper resolution granting
the application of the Westchester Street Railroad Company for
permission to charge a 7 cent fare to December 31st, 1918 under
similar terms and conditions contained in the resolutions heretofore
adopted by this Board, it being, expressly understood that this
extension does not apply after December 31st, 1918, and does not
invalidate in any instance or manner the franchises now existing
between the Westchester Street Railroad Company and the Town of
Mamaroneck.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting
adjournd at 12 P.M
