HomeMy WebLinkAbout1918_11_01 Town Board Minutes Minutes of a Meeting of the Joint Town Board, Town of Mamaroneck, held November 1st, 1918, at 9:36 P.M. Supervisor Burton called the meeting to order. The Clerk reported the following present: Supervisor Burton, Justices Collins, Boyd, and Dudley; John Hickey, Superinten- dent of Highways, J.C. Fairchild, Town Clerk, Ralph A. Gamble, counsel. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was RESOLVED, that the reading of the minutes not yet approved be dispensed with. Mr. McKinley, Counsel to the Westchester Street Railroad Company was present, and asked to be heard in regard to extending the time of the Railroad's right to charge the increased fare. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was RESOLVED, that the regular order of business be dispensed with, and that Mr. McKinley be heard forthwith. Mr. McKinley then outlined the report made by Mr. Barnes, the Engineer of the Public Service Commission, which had been com- pleted and submitted and asked that the Board grant the Railroad 1919 during which time the final adjustment of the entire fare matter could be concluded. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was RESOLVED, that the Supervisor appoint a Committee of Five to confer with the Village Trustees of Larchmont and Mamaroneck regarding the Railroad's petition for an increase in fare. Superintendent Hickey asked that he be given authority to have five (5) lights installed in the Woods of Larchmont at points to be designed by him. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, such authority was granted. The meeting adjourned at 11:25 P.M. Town Clerk.
