held October 4th, 1918 at 10:22 P.M.
Supervisor Burton called the meeting to order.
The Clerk reported the following present: Supervisor
Barton, Justices, Collins, Boyd, Dudley and Shafer; Supt of Highways
Hickey, J.C. Fairchild, Town Clerk, Ralph A. Gamble, Counsel .
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the reading
of minutes of previous meeting, not yet approves, was dispensed with.
Supervisor Burton reported the receipt of a communication
from the New York Interurban Water Company in regard to the extension
of the water main on Weaver Street. Upon motion duly made and
carried, the matter was referred to Superintendent of Highways.
The Superintendent of Highways submitted his report for
the months of august and September which was received, and upon
motion duly made, seconded and carried was ordered filed and is as
follows:

Gentlemen:
I hereby report the following work on highways since the
regular August meeting:
graded and macadamized the following highways: Wildwood
Road, Walnut Road, Springdale Road.
graded and filled all depressions of Glen Road from
Rockingstone Avenue to Chatsworth Avenue.
layed several feet of stone gutter on Walnut Road,
Wildwood Road and Glen Road.
built one catch basin and the intersection of Glen
Road and Bungalow Road.
layed 60 feet of 10 inch tile pipe at the intersection
of Popular Road and Rockingstone Avenue..
unloaded 5 cars of stone from the Connecticut Quarries,
3 cars of 1 1/2' and 2 cars of screenings, which were applied on
above mentioned roads.
received from the Barrett Company 1200 gallons of Tavia
"B" which was put in barrels and used in repairing Weaver Street
and Edgewood Avenue and Edgewood Road,
placed a 12 inch cast iron pipe at the intersection
of Rockinstone Avenue and Walnut Road,
cut grass around Lake and Brookside Drive and Boulevard
also brush and weeds out on all highways for the second
time.

Superintendent Hickey reported that the Fences on the
Town Highways had been painted and stenciled and that the work was
satisfactorily completed.
A communication was received from the Westchester Street
Railroad Co. requesting a further extension of time, allowing it to
charge a 7-cent fare.
Also a communication from the Westchester Street Railroad
Co. concerning complaint about open cars.
A communicaion was received from the Interurban Water
Company concerning Hydrants in Woods of Larchmont.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was,
RESOLVED that the matter of Street Lights and Fire
Hydrants in the Woods of Larchmont be referred to Supervisor Burton
and Superintendent of Highways Hickey.
Upon motion of Justice Collins, seconded by Justice
Shafer, it was
RESOLVED, that the communication dated September 24th,
1918 addressed to Supervisor Burton from the Westchester Street
Railway Company be received, and that the application be denied,
and that the Clerk so notify the Railroad Company.
Upon motion of Justice Shafer, seconded by Justice Collins,
it was
RESOLVED, that Counsel be authorized and diected to
notify the Westchester Street Railroad Company that its application
for the continuance of the temporary increase of fare had been
denied by the Joint Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck, and
that the said Company be directed to inform its employees to dis-
continue the demand for the seven-cent fare within the Town of
Mamaroneck.
Carried.
On motion the meeting adjourned at 11:35 P.M.
