This Local Law shall be known as "Abandoned Vehicle Law",
Section 1, Abandoned Vehicles-,
An abandoned vehicle shall be the same as is defined under the Vehicle and Traffic
Law of the State of New York.
Section 2, Towing of Abandoned Vehicles:
a) The Administrator of the Town of Mamaroneck shall be empowered to enter into .
contracts with two.:. or more towing companies to tow and impound and store
abandoned vehicles which are left on the streets of the Town of Mamaroneck.
b) Such towing companies shall tow, impound, and store vehicles at the expense
of the owner and without any charge to the Town, .
c) Said towing companies shall be licensed towers and act in accordance with all
applicable laws, rules, and regulations concerning the towing, impounding,
and storage of motor vehicles.
Section 3. Severability:
Should a court of competent jurisdiction declare any portion of this law invalid,
such declaration shall not affect any other section of the law.
Section G. ' Effective Date: .
This Local Law shall take effect immediately.
