A local Law to amend local Law No. 7 of 1987 entitled the Plumbing code
of the Town of Mamaroneck.
The Plumbing Code of the Town of Mamaroneck shall be amended as follows.
1) Section 7 B. Any person, firm, or corporation which holds a license
as a master plumber or employing plumber issued by another
municipality which has not lapsed or been revoked, may apply to the
Taan Clerk for a license to carry on the business or trade of master
or cloying plumber in the 'Town of Mamaroneck provided that the
application to the Town Clerk is accompanied by (a) a certified copy
Of said license issued by the other municipality and (b) the required
license fee is paid and the applicant shall not. be required to take
the examination as required by §3(E) . In order to differentiate
between master plumbers licensed directly by the Town and those who
are issued licenses based upon the holding of a master plumbers
license from another municipality such license shall be entitled
"Plumber's License" to differentiate it from the "Master Plumber's
License" issued under this article subparagraph "A".
2) §13. delete §13 and add the following language: Insurance Required.
Each licensee shall file with the Town Clerk a certificate of
( insurance naming the Town of Mamaroneck as an additional insured and
certificate holder and providing in said certificate that the Town of
Mamaroneck shall receive thirty (30) days notice by certified mail in
advance of the cancellation of any of the policies reflected in the
certificate. The certificate shall provide proof of general
liability insurance in the amount of no less than one-million
($1,000,000.00) dollars for each occurrence and one-million
($1,000,000.00) dollars in the aggregate, automobile liability
insurance and statutory workers' aaq)ensation insurance. The
certificate shall further provide that the insurance carrier thereby
rode iPies, saves harmless and agrees to defend the Town of
Mamaroneck fran all damages and losses of any nature or kind which
may result from the work of the said licensee and such
indemnification shall include not only the Town of Mamaroneck but its
officers, agents and employees from any work which is done carelessly
or imperfectly or in such away that injury or loss results to
persons or property thereby or by reasm of the licensee failing to
comply with all and singular rules and regulations as now or may
hereafter be established by the Board or under the law or ordinances
of the Town of Mamaroneck or the State of New York.
3) Effective Date. This local law shall take effect imnediately.
4) Severability. Should any provision of this local law be declared
invalid by any court of eonpetent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall
not effect any other provision of this local law.
