This Local Law shall Amend Local Law Number 7 of 199Q "Board Of
Architectural Review" .
Section 1. Findings:
Since its inception the Board of Architectural Review has played
an increasingly significant role in the review of projects within
the Town. However, from time to time it has been difficult to
have the full board present for meetings which can impact on the
effectiveness of its review. It is therefore found to be
necessary to appoint an alternate member of the Board who will
serve in the absence of one of the regular members.
Section 2 . Alternate:
Section 3 of local law number 7 of 1990 is hereby amended by
renumbering the present section 3 as 3 (A) and adding as section
3 (B) the following:
3 (B) The Town Board may from time to time appoint an
alternate member who shall regularly attend meetings of the Board
and participate in deliberations, but who shall not vote, except
in the absence or recusal of one or more of the regular members
of the Board, in which case the alternate member shall have the
same authority to vote on a matter as any other member. For the
purpose of a quorum the alternate member, if present, shall be
counted in the absence of one or more regular members of the
Board. An alternate member shall be appointed for a period of two
(2) years.
Section 3 . Effective Date:
This local law shall take effect immediately.
