This local law shall be known as the "Special Meeting For The Coastal Zone
Management Commission" law.
BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck
Section 1 - Purpose:
The purpose of this local law is to grant the Chair of the Coastal Zone
Management Commission the power to call special meetings of the Commission.
Section 2 -Amendment to the Code of the Town of Mamaroneck:
Section 8-4 of the Town Code of the Town of Mamaroneck shall be deleted in its
entirety and the following shall be substituted:
(a) The Commission shall normally hold its regular meetings at no more than one-
month intervals; however, the chair may call a special meeting of the Commission
by giving at least seven (7) days notice in writing to the other members of the time
and place where the special meeting will be held.
(b) Notice of each of the Commission's regular meetings shall be posted by the
Town Clerk on the signboard which the Town Clerk is required to maintain
pursuant to section 30 (6) of the New York Town Law no less than seven (7) days
prior to the date of that meeting. Notice of any special meeting of the Commission
shall be posted by the Town Clerk on that same signboard no less than four(4)
days prior to the date of that meeting.
(c) The Commission shall appoint a Secretary to record the minutes of its
meetings, copies of which shall be filed with the Village Clerk and the Town Clerk
for distribution to the public upon request.
Section 3 - Severability:
Should any provision of this Local Law be declared invalid or unconstitutional by
any court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration of unconstitutionality or
invalidity shall not affect any other provisions of this Local Law, which may be
implemented without the invalid or unconstitutional provisions.
Section 4 - Effective Date:
This Local Law shall become effective upon filing with the Secretary of State.
