Board unclear which side of street was the northeast side of Cooper Lane. Mrs. K. Carroll, 68 Cooper Lane the only resident in attendance and she spoke of the dangers of cars backing out of driveways from top of hill (Cooper Lane and Mardon Road). She thought that should be addressed. Supervisor noted a new problem was being created. wan suggested sending back to Traffic Committee for them to examine the entire stretch of Road. O’Keeffe agreed. Weprin stated we should adjourn. Silverberg suggested table instead of adjournment. wan, O'Flinn. Solid Waste/Recycling Law Open O’Keeffe and wan Price explained last to be adopted was to clear up the penalty provision. Michael Salem, 711 Larchmont Acres wanted to how if this included multiple dwellings. 8e was told it was and that the Building Inspector was working with Management. Altieri also stated the Management Company issued violations. O'Keeffe stated she was very glad to seeing this was being passed. There would be about 50 to 60 groups of people going out to stencil storm sewers. Stencils would warn people not to throw anything down storm sewers that would be unlawful as severs drain into the Sound. Meeting to be held on Thursday, June 2 at 7:30 PS to demonstrate how it should be done. Westchester County is paying for the spray paint. Supervisor also stated that there would be an open house at the Hommocks Park Apts. on Saturday, June 2~ for prospective tenants and anyone wishing to submit applications. All are welcome. Also fence was put up along 80m0cks Road (Blockbuster Video). Purpose to reduce amount of traffic that is stopping illegally. Rose bushes with thorns also will be planted along fence. EPO=S 0F T8E COUNCIL O'Flinn reported on the fact that the highway crews completed plants in Memorial Park. Also number of islands improved. Seton Road area the residents purchased shrubs through the Tom who got them wholesale. She thanked Vren wder specially . Also completed plants on island at No. Chatsworth and Rockingstone. She stated that the Tom received a very gracious offer from the Larchmont Gardens Club regarding the small park on Madison and Fifth near the temporary firehouse. They have offered to plant flowers there and at the firehouse. O'Flinn also reported that Ellie WilheX spent tXe at the Hommocks Park Apartments. reviewing the plants. She made a number of recommendations to see that the landscaping is as attractive as possible. Supervisor Price also n noted that money had been obtained for noise barriers for Revere bad and No. Brook Road. Don't how where they will E° She can't Eet in touch with Tocci. She asked residents to try and be patient. O'Keeffe stated Budget Advisory Committee was meeting this week with Village of Larchmont. She stated she had several residents call her regarding garbage. She wanted to how law was enforced when homeowners leave garbage and trash out over a weekend. Also are sanitation men suppose to return can to back of house. Report of Bids - Demolition Fire 80use Altieri explained bids were opened on May 31 for the demolition of the two wings and interior of the firehouse. Trains Cap of Yonkers, New York was the low bidder and he recommended authorization. wan asked how long would demolition take. Altieri stated two weeks. Judy Spikes reminded Board of the Corner Stone at the firehouse and that it be preserved. O'Flinn, O'Keeffe authorized Tran Cap O’Flinn reminded Altieri to keep grass and area around firehouse as attractive as possible during renovation. Neighbors would appreciate it. 3. Salary authorization - Firefighter Altieri requested authorization to hire Terence Clarke - wan, Weprin 4. Authorization - Grass Cutting Contract Altieri - contract for an outside contractor to cut grass along road sides and cemeteries. O'Flinn stated that some areas not mentioned. Altieri stated that whatever not on list, will be done by our men. Approve Patsy Ftera Landscaping O'Flinn, O'Keeffe. 3. Authorization - Contract - Billing Service ambulance District wan stated that contract was approved by the Ambulance Board of Directors. Billing service will be started by July 1. Discussion took place regarding company ~o will perform this service. Very reputable. wan, O'Keeffe 4. Report of Bids - Fuel 011 Contract Altieri explained bids and asked for authorization. Weprin asked why such a disparity. Altieri stated that only two bidders. Further discussion followed in regard to the school district and what they pay. Altieri stated that they were in a consortium and Tom can't Eet into. Price asked Xy we can't Eet into consor. with other municipalties. Altieri to look into. O'Flinn, wan At this time since talking about school district, wan wanted to know about early morning swim program. Altieri to talk to Sarah Tate about reinstating. 5. Authorization - Settlement of Certiorari - Mamaroneck Gardens Silverberg explained typo in orginial. Ryan, O'Flinn 6. Authorization - Motion of Polling Places Acocella explained - O'Keeffe, O'Flinn 7. Authorization - Change of Polling Place Acocella explained - O'Keeffe, O'Flinn 8. Salary Authorizations - Recreation, wan - O’Flinn - Su_er Conservation Corps, wan, O'Flinn - Administrative Intern - wan, O'Flinn - Deputy Tom Clerk Altieri explained that the Deputy Tom Clerk position was provisional appointment. There is no civil service list. Salary would be $29,570. wan, O'Keeffe Councilwoman O’Keeffe made statement at this time. She stated that at the last Board meeting she voted on salary authorization for Tom Clerk's office. Didn't how at that time that person was son of department head. (run the tape here, since she wants these minutes and I how that I didn't Eet it all dom). PROCL_TION - Rabbi Leonard Poller Price - hold off until next meeting. She stated she went to party for Poller attended by about 300 pqopA, he is very special person. Over 22 years at Larchmont Temple. The Rotary w£+ be honoring hZ and she will present proclamation there. Change date of next meeting to July 20 also MEust meeting to 17th. - 4 - Price stated that the Board would hold a special meetZE at the end of June on the re*oning of Bonnie Briar property.
