HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992_08_01 Town Board Minutes REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK HELD ON THE 23RD DAY OF AUGUST 1, 1992 AT 8:15 PM AT THE WEAVER STREET FIREHOUSE, WEAVER STREET, LARCHMONT, NEW YORK CONVENE REGULAR MEETING The Regular Meeting of the Town Board was called to order by Supervisor Silverstone at 8:25 AM, at which time on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting was declared adjourned into an Executive Session to discuss negotiations. Present were the following members of the Board. Supervisor Joseph F. Vandernoot Councilman Lee H. Bloom Councilwoman Charlotte P. Monsell Councilman Stewart J. McMillan ABSENT: Councilman Harry B. DeMaio Also present were: Dorothy Miller, Town Clerk Clara Tracy, Deputy Town Clerk James Johnston, Town Attorney Carmine DeLuca, Town Comptroller Mr. Elfrich, Town Engineer The Town Board, on motion of Councilwoman Monsell, seconded by Councilman McMillan, called the meeting to order at 8:15 PM. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Minutes of the regular Meeting of October 4, 1978 were presented then on motion by Councilman McMillan, and seconded by Supervisor Vandernoot the minutes were approved as submitted. With unanimous consent, the Supervisor changed the order of the agenda and took up Item No. 1. under old business, which was a request to install a metal chimney and wood burning stove at 109 Rockland Avenue. OLD BUSINESS 1. Request to Install Metal Chimney &Wood Burning Stove — 109 Rockland Avenue On motion of Councilman Bloom, seconded by Councilman McMillan, approval for the chimney and stove was unanimously approved. The regular order of the agenda was then reconvened. PUBLIC HEARING — Increase of Income Limits for Partial Exemption for Senior Citizens The Board discussed raising the maximum income from $7,200 to $8000. Then on motion made and duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck does hereby approve the property tax exemption for senior citizens to a maximum of$8,000. PUBLIC HEARING — Proposed Local Law No. 3-1979 — Town Administrator The Supervisor said over the past several years there have been discussions regarding the Town opting for a paid administrator. There was a committee formed and charged with making a recommendation to this Board. He thanked the committee and Leo Goldsmith, Chairman noted very little needed to be added to the committee's report except that recent Supervisors devoted a great deal of time to the part-time position. Larry Miralia said as part of the committee explained how the committee workded and added his support to the committee recommendations. ADJOURNMENT On motion of Councilman Ryan, seconded by Councilwoman O'Flinn the special meeting was adjourned at 9:05 AM Submitted by Patricia A.
