2. Visual Barrier - New York State Thruway - 1-95
Previously, the Town Board has discussed the question of barriers along 1-95 and
concluded that concrete noise barriers would be required along 1-95 between Weaver
Street and Rockland Ave. The Thruway Authority also requested of the Town a response
for barriers for Priority Number 10 which is located on the Southbound side of the New
England Thruway south of the Chatsworth Avenue Bridge. Although the Town has
already corresponded with the Authority that visual screening be constructed at this
location, the Authority has asked for a resolution of the Town Board.
On motion of Councilman Ryan, seconded by Supervisor Price, it was
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Mamaroneck does hereby
formally request that visual screening be constructed at the location of
Priority Number 10, that being the Southbound side of the New England
Thruway between the Chatsworth Avenue Bridge and the Thruway Ramp
Bridge (mileposts NE 7.26 and NE 7.63); and
BE IT FURTHER,
RESOLVED, that the Town Board requests the Thruway Authority make
every effort to complete this work within the next construction season.
Ayes: Ryan, Wittner, Price
Absent: Weprin, O'Keeffe
Nays: None
There being no further business to come before the Town Board, the meeting was
adjourned at 8:30 AM.
