MEETING MINUTES
August 8, 2023

The meeting held at the Senior Center, 1288 Boston Post Road, Larchmont was called to order
at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Druker.
ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES:
A quorum was not met to accept the June 13, 2023, and July 11, 2023 Meeting Minutes.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. The Youth Kayaking classes in cooperation with the Village of Mamaroneck will resume
the week of August 14t"
2. All four of the Concerts in the Park have concluded. No rain dates were needed.
3. The August newsletter was enclosed for review.
4. The 2023 - 2024 Fall/Winter Recreation Department brochure will be available online by
Monday, August 14t". Program registration is scheduled to begin on Monday, August
215t. Many fall programs will start the week of September 11t".
5. The Hommocks Camp, Camp Rockingstone, and Teen Travel Camp will conclude on
Friday, August 11t". This year's enrollment numbers are as follows:
Hommocks Camp: 238 Camp Rockingstone: 50 Teen Travel Camp: Session 1: 40
Session 2: 35
6. Our summer swim lessons had 59 participants enrolled, and Mamaroneck Swim Club
had an enrollment of 44.
7. The Figure Skating Camp had 7 participants enrolled.
8. The Floorball Hockey Program with the NY Rangers had 42 participants enrolled.
9. The Warhogs Lacrosse team that rented the summer floor at the ice rink generated
$7,000 in revenue.
10. We will be hosting another Outdoor Movie in the Park on Friday, September 8th. We
will be showing "Tooth Fairy" on the big screen. The June movie was rained out twice.
11. Our 6th Annual Food Truck Festival is scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 30'
from 12:00—4:00 P.M. at Memorial Park. This event is in cooperation with the Town of
Mamaroneck Fire Department. We hope that you can all attend.
12. The Summer Sizzler fitness program had 17 participants.
13. The summer session of tennis lessons will finish up on August 27t"with make ups the
following week. The fall session of tennis lessons is scheduled to begin the week of
September 9t"
14. Preparation for the 2024 Budget has begun. Commissioner Sigel suggested that the
Town Board do a feasibility study on the Memorial Park Tennis Courts to make 4 double
courts. Also, the old tennis courts at Central School that were taken down and made
into a parking lot, were supposed to be for recreational space and suggested this would
be a nice place for pickleball courts.

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
15. Landtek is scheduled to aerate, overseed, and fertilize the Carpino-Steffens Fields on
August 14th
16. The first ice rental at the Hommocks Park Ice Rink is scheduled for the week of August
21st. Matt Angst and David Andrews have been busy removing the floor covering for
our first rental. Public skating sessions will begin on Saturday, October 1st
17. The NY Ranger charity game date has been changed to Saturday, January 6th in the
evening which will have no impact on our public skating schedule. MYHA will be
responsible for the hourly ice rental time and the cost of any additional staff.
18. A concept plan for additional landscaping and benches at Memorial Park was enclosed.
A Landscape Architect who is currently working on another Town project has been
asked for their input. We will also be dedicating a bench in honor of Rosemary Dufficy.
19. The new Hommocks play space that is located behind the Hommocks School has
started. The area has been leveled and paved.
20. On July 13th, the Town Fire Department helped us host a BBQ for the Town's senior
citizens. 117 Seniors joined us for the BBQ.
21. The lines for a pickleball court were painted under the tunnels. A portable net and
pickleball equipment are available with the court attendant. A photo was enclosed.
22. There is no current update to report regarding the Hommocks Fields Feasibility Analysis.
23. There is no increase in pool fees for the school year season. We will bring back the Daily
Walk-in fee that we had during the COVID-19 season.
CHAIRMAN'S UPDATE:
Chairman Druker inquired about the Ice Rink Trust Fund account. Ms. Fisher stated that we
have approximately $58,000 in the fund. Chairman Druker expressed his concerns on the
feasibility study that was presented and feels that seating, parking, and the outdoor ice rink will
need to be discussed further in the future.

There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by Chairman
Druker, seconded by Commissioner Sigel, the meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
