HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023_07_10 Board of Architectural Review Minutes MINUTES Board of Architectural Review Meeting .- t Wednesday,July 10, 2023 LIJ • FOUNCD 1 GG1 PRESENT: Edward Jacobson, Chairman Joseph Shein, Board Member Charles Toothill, Board Member Diane Blum, Board Member ALSO PRESENT: Sabrina Fiddelman, Town Board Liaison Richard Polcari, Building Inspector Jenny Ransom, BAR Secretary ABSENT: Ken Ricci, Board Member CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. Application #1 - 1370 Boston Post Road— UBX Boxing—SIGN Luis Osbina of Signs Lab addressed the Board regarding a sign for new gym. The Board discussed the size of the letters on the sign, requesting they be made thinner—from Helvetica Bold to Helvetica Narrow, thus reducing the impact of the lettering by 1/3 brush stroke. Applicant will check with client to see if they are ok with the proposed changed. Applicant will resubmit drawings with changes and send to Building Inspector for review. If client doesn't approve changes, they can revise and return to BAR meeting at a future date. Ed Jacobson requested a copy of the sign code as clarification for future applications. Motion: To accept application with qualification of stroke of letters to be reduced Moved by Diane Blum, seconded by Charles Toothill Action: Unanimously Approved 1 Application #2 - 2453 Boston Post Road —Jeep Chrysler-SHED Fernando Gulla representing Chrysler Jeep, addressed the Board regarding a new Shed. Ed Jacobson asked applicant to confirm it couldn't be seen from street. Applicant advised it would not be seen from street and it will be grey/beige. Rich Polcari confirmed new shed will meet current required setbacks. Motion: To approve the plan as presented Moved by Joseph Shein, seconded by Diane Blum Action: Unanimously Approved Board and Building Inspector discussed temporary sign code which BI clarified is confusing as it excludes businesses. Charles Toothill brought up poor condition of signage at Staples store. Richard Polcari suggested Code Enforcement can address this as a maintenance code issue. Board agreed to look for and note other signage within the Town of Mamaroneck that has defects/issues.
