HomeMy WebLinkAbout2022_05_16 Board of Architectural Review Minutes BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW MAY 16, 2022 Present: Edward Jacobson, Chairman, Diane Neff, Diane Blum,Joseph Shein, Ken Ricci Also Present:Abby Katz Absent: Susan Healey CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to Order at 7:35PM MINUTES The minutes of April 18, and March 21 were discussed Motion: To approve the minutes of March 21, and April 18 as submitted. Moved by Joseph Shein, seconded by Ken Ricci Action: Unanimously approved 1. 615 Fifth Avenue Safeguard Storage facade No one appeared. 2. 1329 Boston Post Road NY Presbyterian/Columbia Signs Dan Forest from Dura Architectural Signage addressed the Board for 2 signs on the facade. Mr. Forest explained that they wish to cover the damaged area where the previous tenants sign was within the bull nose. The color pallet is muted, subdued and classy. The matter is to go before the Zoning Board as the 40 inch is nonconforming. The Board discussed the proposal and expressed their approval of the plan. Mr.Jacobson stated he will send a letter to the Zoning Board expressing the Boards approval. Mr. Shein voiced concerns regarding the wall in the rear of the parking lot. A planting plan was show and discussed; Ms. Katz stated the Traffic Commission felt for pedestrian safety the trees should be moved closer to the curb. Mr.Jacobson stated the Board needs a formal planting plan and further questioned whether there will be lighting in the parking lot. Mr. Forest stated did not know but he would forward the Board concerns. The matter was adjourned Mr.Jacobson will send the Board approval of the signage to the Zoning Board. 3. 7 Madison Avenue Company Chop House Fence Tom Torre the owner of the property addressed the Board. Mr.Torre explained the placement of the different fences on the property. The white vinyl fence in the front side of the building is necessary for safety to block the stairs to the basement. The white vinyl in the rear surrounds the kitchen entrance. The chain link fence is to enclose the dumpster. The wood fence is along the side between the neighbors parking lot. The Board discussed the fences and stated the 3 different type of fences was unfortunate, but they were installed years ago by a previous tenant and there have been no complaints. Motion:To approve the fences as submitted Moved by Joseph Shein, seconded by Diane Blum Action: Approved Vote: Yes: Edward Jacobson,Joseph Shein, Diane Blum, Ken Ricci No: Diane Neff OLD BUSINESS Mr.Jacobson asked Ms. Katz about the Comprehensive Plan. Ms. Katz stated they are gathering information about what the residents and Boards would like to see for the future of the Town. The entrance to the Town off Interstate 90 was discussed. Ms. Katz stated that there is a proposal to install a round-about there to enhance the entrance into the Town. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:17 PM.
