MEETING MINUTES
December 13, 2022

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting held at the Senior Center; 1288 Boston Post Road was called to order at
7:00 P.M. by Chairman Druker.
ACCEPTANCE OF MEETING MINUTES:
On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Welsh, the Meeting
Minutes of October 13, 2022 were unanimously approved as amended.
SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1 . The fall session of the Recreation House Hockey program has an enrollment of
133. Last year at this time we had 89 enrolled.
2. Session 2 of Skating School will conclude on December 18th with 303
participants. Session 3 of Skating School registration begins on December 12tn
3. The December Recreation Newsletter is enclosed for your information.
4. Many fall programs are concluding within the next week. The winter session of
programs will begin in January.
5. Our 2022 tennis programs had a total enrollment of 444 participants. In 2021 , we
had a total enrollment of 441 participants.
6. The Rink General Admission revenue at the ice rink for the Thanksgiving
weekend totaled $19,468.
7. The November 2022 Rink General Admission attendance numbers were
enclosed for your information.
8. The Learn to Play Hockey program has a current enrollment of 53 participants.
This program concludes on February 11tn
9. The Winterfest event at the Hommocks Park Ice Rink is scheduled to take place
on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
10.The Adult Power Volleyball has been postponed for 2 weeks due to a delay in
repairs to the Hommocks gymnasium floor.
11 .Members of the Senior Center were treated to a Thanksgiving holiday lunch by
the Hommocks Middle School students. Photos were enclosed.
12.The Carpino-Steffens Fields were seeded and fertilized at the end of October.
13.The ice rink has been decorated for the season. Matt, Patrick, David, and
Michelle did an incredible job decorating the facility.

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE CONTINUED:
14.The repairs to the broken sewer line at the Hommocks Park Ice Rink are still
ongoing. We are anticipating a completion date of December 16th. Ms. Fisher
will keep the Commission updated on the repairs.
15.Ms. Fisher enclosed a recent article on the status of Hampshire Country Club for
review.
16.The City of Yonkers has opened a new outdoor seasonal ice rink. The article
from Westchester Magazine was enclosed.
17.There is still no delivery and installation date for the new high school hockey
lockers.
18.The new exterior doors at the ice rink are expected to be delivered and installed
in January.
19.The new playground equipment for Memorial Park has been ordered. Delivery is
estimated in approximately 8 weeks. Demolition of existing equipment and
grading of the area is expected to begin, weather permitting in February. The
time frame of this project is estimated at four months.
20.Matt Angst, Ice Rink General Manger, and his wife Brittney are expecting their
first baby due any day now.
21 .On November 30th, both the pool and ice rink lost power temporarily for a few
hours due to a windstorm.
22.An aerial image of the courts at Memorial Park was enclosed to aid in the
discussion of adding another lined pickleball court to Court #2. After further
discussion, the Commission has decided and agreed to not add additional lines
to Court #2 as it would be disruptive to the other courts. The Commission has
asked for Court #4 to be looked at and measured again to see if we can fit 2
pickleball courts on it, instead of just the one that we currently have.
EMAIL FROM MR. DAVID RIGOTTI:
An email was received from Mr. David Rigotti asking the Commission for consideration
of building an outdoor remote-control racetrack at Memorial Park. Mr. Rigotti's email
was enclosed with information on other communities that have built remote control
racetracks. The Commission was interested in researching this activity in more detail.
Chairman Druker suggested looking into using the ice rink in the summer months.
FIELDS FOR KIDS UPDATE:
Town Supervisor, Jaine Elkind Eney updated the Commission on the status of Fields for
Kids. The Town has signed a contract with Field for Kids to do a study on the Carpino-
Steffens Fields. This study will be at the expense of Fields for Kids. Supervisor, Elkind
Eney will share the results with the Commission when the study is complete.
RETIREMENT OF COMMISSIONER TERRY RAINALDI:
After 31 years on the Recreation Commission, Mrs. Terry Rainaldi retired from the
Recreation Commission with this being her last commission meeting. Town Supervisor,
Jaine Elkind Eney presented Commissioner Rainaldi with a Town of Mamaroneck
Proclamation thanking her for all her years of service on the Commission. We wish
Terry all the best.

On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Sigel, the Commission
unanimously adopted the following meeting dates for 2021

September 261h — Joint Sept./Oct. Budget Meeting
November 14th
December 12th*

All meetings will begin at 7.00 P.M. at the Senior Center, 1288 Boston Post Road in
Larchmont, except where noted.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, on a motion by
Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Rainaldi, the meeting was adjourned at
7.50 P.M.
